I received this Presto Eversharp Electric Knife Sharpener as a gift about 5 years ago and it still works great. I was hesitant to use it at first, as I was new to the "kitchen scene", but after following the directions and trying it out a few times to get a feel for it, it was really easy to use. I invested some money in a set of nice knives and I knew I needed to sharpen them for effectiveness as well as for safety. So now that I am a master chef (in my family, anyway) I always keep my prep knives sharp and it makes a huge difference in making cooking fun if your knife actually works! It is so much safer to have a sharp knife so I don't have to struggle with a dull one and risk cutting myself. With this machine, just go nice and easy and don't force your knife downward - let it do all the work!

There isn't really anything wrong with this item; it does a good job sharpening. However, I think that it is a bit bulky and hard to store for someone that is limited on cabinet space. Also, when you want to quickly sharpen a knive it is a bit combersome to take this out and plug it in when you could in half that time just grab the manual sharpener to get the job done just as well. So, I have passed this item on to a relative that has excess storage in their kitchen and is a little bit older and has less strength in their hands to swipe the knife properly across the manual sharpener. I just use the manual sharpener that also has an area for regular straight knives as well as serrated edge knives. That item has a small handle and a couple of rubber rollers.

I have to cook for my whole family and I have to use knife everyday. And sometimes I found the knife is not the shape and is is hard to cut the meat. I always feel crazy when I cannot seperate them. And you can image how excited I found this knife Sharpener. Though it is expensive, I buy it immeately after I saw it. And I am glad that I bought this. It is useful. I sharp my knife every two week and the knife is always on the good condition. Knife is always expensive to buy a new one. So buying a sharpener is a good investment. And the good thing is you don't need too much strength to sharp your knife. Can not image how easily sharp knife is if you don't buy it. Haha. this is the most lovely thing in my kitchen.

So early this year I purchased this knife online from amazon for a fairly decent price. I had to get this because I had never heard of an electric knife sharpener before. I used to sharp my knifes the old fasioned way. My knives in my house are pretty dull and get that way very often because I'm a Chef. So I decided to buy this. First thing I liked when I opend the box was that it came with warrenty and looked incredible really. It was so shiny. Anyway I pugged it in and it sharpend my knife in less than a minute and boy was it sharp. This saves a lot I mean a lot of time and trust me it surely does work. In fact you could sharpen two knives at once, there is a slot on the left side and on the right.

First, the product itself sharpens knives very well and carefully - I have not had an issue with a dull knife since I started using the Presto Knife Sharpener. Some time ago I bought a 2pack of knives at a restaurant supply store for cheap. I immediately started using one and left the other in the package. It was great, but even with regular honing with a steel but eventually the edge wore down and it just wasn't very sharp anymore. I did not realize how bad it had got until I brought out the second brand new knife, which was of course very sharp and wonderful. I bought the Presto sharpener to try to bring the first knife sharp. Before sharpening, I used an orange as the benchmark, and tried cutting it with each of the knives. The new one sliced easily of course, and the old one took some pressure to get through. After sharpening the two knives performed at the same level, which means the presto unit worked really well.

my presto knife sharpener has been the best .i use to take my knifes out to get them sharpened ,now i just do it myself.it is easly to use,just run your knife across in the little slots and keep them sharp,dont wait till they get dull,it also has a good price.just check around and see where the best price is.sharpens real well.you can sharpen any size knife on it .i so think you need to get one and try it out,you will not want to rseturn itto the store,you will even want to get one for all your kids that are married,

I love cooking.I'm very particular with the things I use in the kitchen when I'm cooking something.What I learned from my culinary teacher,was that when cooking slicing or cutting the meat,veggies or fruits has a big factor of how the food your preparing turns out.At first I didn't understand but then while watching someone else's cooking,I then realize what she was talking about. Everytime I cook,it's a must that I use my knife.If I use some other knives,it's ok as long as it's sharp and won't give me hard time using it.It'll take me a lot of time to sharpen my knife. My husband has some collection of knives and he do a lot of sharpening too.We always thought that it'll be nice if we can find something quick and easy to do all the sharpening.The other day while we were buying something from a store,we was Presto Evershapr Electric Knife Sharpener,and we pick it up right away and bought it home. It's very easy to use and you knives will be sharp in no time.I would really say that this really will be a big help for you and you don't have to worry about dull knives anymore.

The Presto Eversharp Knife sharpener is just about the greatest kitchen gift ever if you're like me and hate to deal with dull knives!   With a small footprint (about 8" x 5" with nice rubber suction cups on the bottom to secure it to the countertop during use) it does a big job with the best of them. Very easy to use with 4 slots.  You simply start on the left and do slot 1 then slot 2 three times to sharpen the left and right edges (slots & stones are angled such that you just place the blade in and lightly pull back, it adjusts the angle)  then you move to the right side and repeat with the two slots on that side to burnish.  (With exceptionally dull knives I do the left side twice before moving to the right) I don't think Hubby will ever get over my sharpening the butter knife to a fine edge...~giggle~.  I figured we keep butter in the freezer prior to use and a sharp edge might come in handy and if it could sharpen up a rounded edge butter knife it would probably stand up to every thing else! It did a fine job on everything from the butter knife to my hunting knives to the  heavy duty cleaver...and it does it at a price other sharpeners don't come close too.  DEFINATELY the one to buy!
