OK so a few months ago I decided to try some lavender eyeshadow. I have greeny hazel eyes which always seem to pop more when I use shades in the purple family. So I began looking around at drugstore brands to find reasonably priced eyeshadow collections with one light shade and one darker shade that I wanted and found three different brands that I decided to try. I have historically had bad luck with drugstore eyeshadows, thus the three different brands.
One of the brands that looked really promising is Prestige Cosmetics. I picked up their Eyeshadow Duo in the shade called Passionfruit which consists of a light lilac shade and a deeper purple shade in one small round compact. I got it at Walgreens for and it was marked $4.49 but was on sale for half off. It did not come with an applicator. I have tons of applicators and brushes though so that's not a problem.
But none of those brushes and applicators worked! I tried all my eye brushes, foam applicators, and even my finger but could not get this eyeshadow to stick to my eyelids at all. When I rubbed my finger over the top of the shadow it picked up a good amount but when I then tried to apply it to my eyes nothing showed up. I tried several times and finally came to the conclusion that the only thing that would work here is to rub the compact across my eyelids which ain't gonna happen. Not only would that be hard to do and kind of gross, but the eyeshadow is frosted which is not a good look so it's a blessing in disguise that I cannot get it to stick to me.
1 star - I wish I could give Prestige Cosmetics' Duo Eyeshadow less than one star. Yep. It's that bad.
