I loved this bed at first site and decided to purchase this particular brand because of the color it came in. Prior to finding this one, I had only found similar models in white or oak. Because my daughter is just above 5 feet tall, I was quite confident it would be fitting for her. I was however, concerned about the weight limitation because the slate boards looked - in images - thin and somewhat weak. I went to the actual store to make the purchase to ensure it's strength even though it was cheaper to purchase online. The space saving design is a really great thing in our case because although the room is big enough for her dressers, she enjoys stashing things like her journal, ipod and other items - including a chapter book, pens ect. in them. We have a few younger children in the home as well so the fact that she can pull her comforter over to cover the drawers from nosy & busy little hands helps a little bit. Putting it together required me to call in help - but the instruction manual made it easier with it's very clear and direct wording and images. Another great thing is if you move elsewhere, you won't likely have to disassemble the entire bed in order to move it. It's a good bed for the price.
