Premonition Review Summary

You may remember Sandra Bullock from action packed movies like Speed and Speed 2, or from comedy movies, like Miss Congeniality, but reviewers say "she delivered her best acting performance" in the mystery/thriller Premonition.  This fantasy story is about a housewife who switches between a world where her husband is dead and a world where he is alive.  Reviewers say Sandra "was so convincing that I had the eerie feeling that somehow this could really happen".  Although the majority of reviewers recommend the film, a few say it lacked because Premonition "took you through all these emotions and left you empty waiting for a real ending".  Regardless of what you make of these reviews, the consensus is that you should rent Premonition before you buy it.

Bottom-Line:  In the final analysis Premonition is a confusing, head scratching (I know redundant term) mess, a riddle, wrapped inside a puzzle that cannot be solved, at least by this reviewer.

Not quite horror, not quite a thriller... mostly just dull

My latest Netflix rental was Premonition, starring the almost always likable Sandra Bullock. And that about sums it up -- she was almost likable in Premonition.

First we meet the family of Jim and Linda Hanson (Julian McMahon and Sandra Bullock), which includes two young and pretty daughters. Linda drops them off at school and goes about her usual day of shopping, laundry and simple domestic tasks. The next thing she knows, a policeman arrives at the door to tell her that her husband died the day before. Linda's friends and mother arrive to help her grieve, and Linda does the unthinkable task...

I've never been a huge fan of Sandra Bullock. Speed 1 and 2 were pretty good and Miss Congeniality made me wanna puke. So, I wasn't sure how this one would turn out. Now after watching it, I regret wasting my precious life minutes on Premonition.

Plot: Linda Hanson awakes to learn that her husband has just been in a fatal car accident. The following morning she wakes up to see that her husband is in bed with her, alive and well. The following days continue on this pattern up until the actual day of his death.

I love a good thrill/mystery type movie, so this was on my list of to-see movies. Plus, I like Sandra Bullock and am a big fan of Julian McMahon. This movie does deliver, if you like the type of movies with twists and turns every 5 seconds, and one that takes you back and forth over and over. I don't mind all the twists and other plot turns, etc, but this one was a little too all over the place for me, and I think they tried to make it such a mind bender that they forgot to answer many questions that I found in the movie. This movie stars Sandra Bullock in one of her best rolls to date. Premonition is an interesting movie that starts with the ending first. Unfortunately though, by the time it gets near the end, you have already figured out what happens next. This is by no means, one of the year's best movies, but it does take you for quite a ride..

I heard rave reviews from friends about this movie, so I was very anxious to see it. The story line would be difficult to follow if you were at all distracted with other tasks while watching the movie. Sandra Bullock was very convincing in her role. I don't remember the male lead actor's name, but I wasn't interested in finding out because I don't think he was convincing in his role. There did not seem to be much magnetism between him and Sandra Bullock either. Thankfully, his role was not big in comparison to Bullock's. Now I really liked this movie. Sandra Bullock is an awesome actress and she did a wonderful job in this movie. Yes it was a little confusing with soooo many twists and turn that you might not be able to keep up with but that makes the movie interesting! The end was the best I wasn't expecting the twist, it made me cry!

the plot kept me on the edge of my seat and guessing what was going to happen next. and Sandra Bullock is easy on the eyes.i enjoy movies that you cant figure out. and this one i thought was written well , directed well, and Sandra Bullock was great as usual

I was really excited to see this movie since the previews make it seem like it would be so good. Let's just say I was really let down instead. The story felt like it was going to pick up over and over (and over and over) again, but it never did, or at least I never did. The story was a good idea because it wasn't the same old one that's been done a hundred times over, but it ended up not being as good as we thought it would be. It was one of those films that showed most of the good scenes in the previews and kind of lets the audience down when they're watching it.

This movie was pretty good. Although confusing at first. This is the type of movie that is similar to trying to put a puzzle together. You don't quite get the picture very clearly until the pieces start coming together. It has plenty of suspence and  grabs your attention from the beggining of the movie all the way to the  end. Sandra Bullock was definitely not one of my favorite actresses but I have to say, the performance she gave in this film was very good. She reminded me of Jodie Foster. My wife talked me into watching this and I expected the plot to be something to the affect where she had to change time to stop the death of her husband. Kind of to the point where everything had to be in place the day she thought he had died. So here I was memorizing the first scene. Then the plot was jumping all around and my wife had to start explaining scenes to me. I love action movies and movies where you have to think but this was crazy. Very Slow but a good movie, suspenseful

At first I thought this Sandra Bullock film was going the way of her other movie Hope Floats which was depressing from beginning to end. This movie was kinda slow and it was sad at times. It was also a little hard to follow. I would recommend watching the bonus features o get a better understanding of the movie. This really turned it around for me. The concept of the whole thing was good. at times I was rooting for the husband and other times I was rooting for Sandras character and was kinda glad he was dead. Inthe end there was a twist that changed everything. Definately one to try.

  • This movie is great,Tells a great story.As long as you pay attention to it.Sandra Bullock is great.A story that is very touching.Man and woman forgetting what they have together only to find out to late how things really are.Classic tale of love that hits the rock in the road.
  • This movie has it all:Love,Betrayal,sadness
  • I truely recommand this movie,get a bowl of popcorn and the tissues out for this one and don't forget to take the phone off the hook,and enjoy!

this is a good movie .  its sad too. this is the kind of movie that you want to see again just in case you missed something.  I think sandra bullock played a good part.I wish it had a different ending. You dont really know whats happening until the end thats when it all comes together.  i watched it two nights in a row and i'll probably buy the video.   i would   tell all my friends to watch it.
