Preen Weed Preventer does not kill existing weeds.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

We grow a garden every year.  And every year we spend hours pulling weeds in it.  This year we heard about Preen and figured it would be worth a try.  Unfortunately, we didn't put it on the garden in the beginning.  We only put it on after some weeds had sprouted.  Well, Preen does not kill existing weeds.  We should have put it down before we ever even planted the veggies and mixed it into the soil then.

So at first we thought that it just didn't work - then after some more reading we realized what we had done wrong.  So outside we went and spent hours pulling weeds and then we put the Preen back down again.  This time very few weeds returned.  ...

Recommend it to everybody!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I am not only a gardener but I am a landscape designer. I use this product twice a year in my own garden and twice a year in my parents garden. When I draw and estimate landscape jobs I always recommend this product to anyone using mulch, it is the only way to go in my book. I work at a place that sells this product as well as other products that do the same thing but I will never sway from Preen. It is what I know works and the price is great too. One shaker container can last you a while. It has yet to fail me in my own gardening ventures so I will continue to use and recommend this product to as many people as I can. I think it is totally worth it and I think anyone else who has tried this product will agree with me.

Preen saves so much time and work!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I first tried Preen in my garden about 3 years ago. I have a very large vegetable garden and do a lot of canning. With 4 children, ages 6 and under, a garden that size is very difficult to maintain. I was looking for something to help, and boy did I find it! Preen really does what it is advertised as doing! It helped with thistle, chickweed, and a whole host of other common weeds. I finally had the garden I've always wanted-very clean, literally NO weeds anywhere! It is very expensive, in my opinion, which is why I hesitated to try it. The following year I tried another (cheaper) brand that claimed to be the same thing as Preen but it did NOTHING at all. I am working on my seed catalog orders right now and Preen is definitely on my list! My daughters, ages 4 & 6, are getting big enough to help in the garden now, but it is still too much for us to keep up without some help. Thanks, Preen, for a great product!

Preen - gets the weeds

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Preen is the best product on the market for stopping weeds. It does not stop everything but there is a good reduction in what I used to see. It definately reduces the hours spent on hands and knees pulling each and every nasty little weed. It is also safer and better than weed killers that you have to spray on and then get to see a dead weed in your flower bed. The container is light enough to carry around and the spout gives a nice easy distribution pattern that seems to spread the right amount of product around and in between your bushes and plants. Yes it is expensive but it is worth that extra money to reduce the amount of labor involved and the wear and tear on your back or your knees. Well worth it.

Preen garden weed preventer didn't work for me.

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

Okay, most of us gardeners have heard of Preen. Well, Preen garden weed preventer didn't work for me.  When I first heard of Preen I got so excited.  The friend that told me about it was swearing up and down by this product and said she had to rush out that day to get some to apply that weekend, before the weeds started up.  She proceeded to tell me how she uses it and how much she really liked it.

Well, I thought, if it works that well, I NEED it.  Note, need, not want.  My entire backyard is all plants and rocks, so something that prevents weeds, for up to 3 (three) months sounded like a little bit of Heaven right there in my backyard.

So, on her word, I rush out myself and purchase about $100 worth of Preen.  And I actually read the directions and used it exactly as I was told there.  And, guess what?  A couple weeks later, I had a beautiful crop of fluffy baby green leaves all belonging to WEEDS.

Sure wasted my $100.

Preen Garden Weed Preventer works just like it says.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

If you don't like to week your flower garden or vegetable garden then Preen Garden Weed Preventer is for you.

Just follow the directions and you will be weed free.  Apply after your plants are established and you will not spend much time weeding.  It works just like it says.  Have used it in my flower garden after everything has come up and have not had to weed the rest of the season.  It works just great in your vegetable garden.  Just make sure everything is planted or come up and you won't have to weed.  If their are any weeds later just go back and reapply.  Wouldn't be without it.  Have at least an acre of flower gardens and do not weed all summer.

I hate weeding

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I had been in search of the perfect thing to make my plants thrive and the weeds DIE!

My yard is overrun by neglect of previous owner and the fact our neighbors just don't care.  I have a lawn service and everything, but they only weed and feed the grass.

What to do?

Last year I see PREEN in Home Depot when I am there looking for some other stuff and I buy it.  I weed, I put down PREEN - I go buy more because the container I bought was too small.  And guess what?  I only had to pull a few weeds here and there instead of the hours I spent weeding in summers past.

I bought a HUGE container this year and am keeping my flower beds lush and weed free.

Thanks PREEN!

An low maintenance option

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Last summer I was getting tired of constantly pulling weeds between our patio bricks. I went looking for low maintenance ways to controls the typical weeds without using chemicals that were dangerous either to the environment, humans and animals. I came across Preen Vegetable Garden Weed Preventer. This product is made out of corn gluten and works to inhibit the germination of certain common weeds.

The Preen site has several pages on compatible plants and when to apply the weed preventer. The best time is early spring before many of the weeds' seeds have begun germination. By applying at that point the gardener has the opportunity to control the rate of growth and quantity of seeds.

While ...

Preen Garden Weed Preventer made a noticeable difference.

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

Preen Garden Weed Preventer proved to be an average product for me in my garden.  I have garden boxes that have weed preventing paper lined on the bottom of the boxes.  As an added measure, after getting my black dirt, I sprinkled the Preen Weed Preventer in one of my garden boxes.  I had ran out by time I got to my second garden box, and unfortunately got lazy and never bought new before planting my garden.  Aftr working the weed preventer into the soil lightly on the one garden box we planted our seeds.  I loved that the Preen Weed Preventer was safe for my garden seeds/plants!  I also loved that it had some fertalizer in it as well!  Come late June I had...

Placing my dollars on the ground would have stopped more weeds!

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I was very skeptical on whether this would have worked and now I know that there was good cause for my skepticizm. This stuff didn't work at all. I could have prevented more weeds by laying out the dollar bills on the ground as a weed barrier. I called the company to try and get a refund but was informed that this product only prevents a small handful of weed species, apparently none of them the kind we have here in Colorado. This product is garbage and I believe the company to operate along the same level as scam artists and gaming bookies. I knew it sounded too good to be true! Save your money folks!

Preen Weed Preventer Plus Fertilizer

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have a rather small size home and lawn. I decided to make several islands with different plants instead of having all grass. In all I have 7 islands. I also have plants going up both sides of the house, some are in containers and I also have plants and containers in the back and on the deck.

Several years ago, I was inundated with weeds in each island. I went to my favorite nursery and saw Preen on the shelves. I decided to try it after reading about it online and to this day I use it early each spring and I  vow that it is the only thing that really works with no fuss,  no hard work. My flowers have vivid colors and grow twice the size they used to, now that I am using the Preen with Fertilizer. Thank you for this great product!

This product is a big time saver.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have tried and used this product for years. It truly does work if the directions are followed correctly. Your garden must be weed free when applied. The product does not kill weeds, it keeps them from growing or germinating. Also, make sure to apply monthly. If done correctly, you will never have an issue. I actually prefer the preen and green. It fertilizes, too, which cuts out and extra step and saves time for me.

Preen is supreme!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have use Preen for years and it is the ONLY weed killer for me. It is easy to use and it totally cleans those nasty weeds! It is great to use in between the sidewalk an along those places in your driveway. Just pulling the weeds does not work ---- with this product you can be assured that the nasty crab weeds will not return as soon as not using Preen. It acually soaks into the soil and prevent the weeds from coming back so soon. I have had the best luck with this product and I have tried so many of them and Preen has given me the best results.

it is awesome

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

it is a very good product that I use all the time and it kills all the weeds in the yard.  I recommend it to anyone who wants to get rid of the weeds that drives them nuts.  It kills all the weeds that we have in our yard in twenty four hours.  Which is great and it does not kill the plants or anything around it.  Which makes our yard alot nicer

Preen does not work as advertised!

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I purchased the largest size of Preen weed preventer and plant food. The

advertisement sounded great but unfortunately it does not work! I weeded

all of my flower beds meticulously as the directions on the container stated that

it did not kill existing weeds. I then treated the beds with Preen and watered it

down as directed. I then mulched my flower beds and 1 week later already have weeds

popping up! It is a totally worthless product and i won't waste my money again.
