great home gym

Comments about Powertec Fitness Multi System Home Gym:

After 24 years of weight lifting alone, it was finally time to move to a home gym setup. My wife and I went to Dicks spoting goods and looked at a variety of equipment. We finally settled on the Powertec Multi system home gym. It has three stations that can allbe used at once and is a plate loaded system. It is extremely smooth nad has a 1000 pound capacity. One thing you have to get used to is adding up just the plates themselves. Most people automatically add in 45 pounds for the bar, but the machine itself is virtually friction free. The one thing I do not like about it is the leg extension/leg curl. I have very long legs and the machine does not realy fit my leg length, so I got a separate machine for my legs. But it is great for back, chest, and squats. It was very easy to put together, but over the years I have put a LOT of equipment together, so I can put most pieces together now with vwery little effort. I like the fact that more than one person can use the machine at a time, most home gyms are one at the time and then you have to reset it for the various exercises, not so with the powertec. I can use heavier weights than I was using with free weights and I can do so without a lot of the elbow/shoulder soreness I was beginning to experience after years of lifting.

MULTISYSTEM with some design flaws and terrible customer service

Comments about Powertec Fitness Multi System Home Gym:

We purchased the machine ad Dick's sporting goods.  The machine is amazing with some flaws.  We like it because more than one person can utilize the system.  It tries to achieve working on all body parts but comes up short in several ways.  The leg extension attachment is uncomfortable.  It seems that it was designed for a certain height and not for any other person.  The tri-cep attachment is good but their is no room to work out comfortably.  The ab attachment harness broke the first day and we are still waiting on a replacement part.  I have tried to call the manufacturer and it's like only two people work their.  They have to ask someone else to even make a decision and they do not follow up.

The squat rack or option is tremendous.  It does a very good job with keeping the form for the user.  The rack has an option to allow one person to work out on there own.  The bench works incline, decline, military press and flat bench.  This part is well designed.  The machine also allows you to work on back.
