When it comes to treating my cats, I am one of those people who will do what it takes to keep them happy. This involves giving them treats, and at times, allowing them to have cat "candy" every once in a while. These Moist Tuna Flavored Pounce treats fall into that category, where my cats love them a whole lot, but which must be monitored as these aren't the best things that cats can consume.
Coming in a nice 3 ounce container, it affords the customer a nice pop up lid that allows you to pour out some of the treats. If you so wish, the top unscrews to give you easier access, and also provides a way to take off the little pad that protects the treats before you pop it open for the first time. The best thing about the container though, is also one of their selling points, as when you shake up the container of Pounce treats the kitties usually come running. I often use this as a selling point when I am trying to show my felines that they have been quite good.
The treats themselves are in the shapes of little fish, wish what appears to be a meaty center. They are nice and soft, which makes them easy for the cats to swallow, and helps them get more taste out of the little treats. I would say each one is about 1/2 an inch long, and just big enough to make the cats chew them, but not too large as to be hard to eat. Plus, they are just long enough that when you hold them from the edge of the fish tail, you can feed your cats without risking the loss of a finger.
My cats absolutely love these treats, and will come running to see who can get and eat the most of them. Little do they know that I count out how many each cat gets, but they really enjoy the process, and are actually willing to sit up on their hind legs to get the treats. They love them, and have turned treat time into an enjoyable moment for both themselves and this particular treat provider.
While the cats really loves these little treats, it is also important to notice that a couple of the main ingredients aren't what you would expect. In this tuna treat, the first listed ingredients are wheat flour and animal digest. They may have the taste of tuna, but there is more beef and flour than fish to this product. It's not the worst thing in the world, but it means your cats aren't getting the healthiest of ingredients. Though I do give a rave recommendation for the product, please make sure to feed in moderation, as this is the equivalent to cats as candy bars are to humans.
