What is an anti-aging cream? Some may think that it is an anti-wrinkle cream, or a firming cream. But for me, as I age my skin increases to discolor and age spots become more and more visible on my face. Wrinkles aren't really my problem, and I need an anti-aging cream that will help smooth out the appearance of my skin and fade dark spots. If you know of something that really work for this problem, PLEASE share what you know with me.
I have tried everything. I've spent a lot of money on different face creams, hoping that something will make my skin look more even. Dark spots just keep appearing on new locations of my face, and it is very discouraging. I've spent as much as $ 50.00 on anti-aging cream and saw no results, so as crazy as it sounds....I thought maybe if I tried a brand name I had never heard of, it would work.
I found Porcelana Skin Lightening Creamat Walgreens, and it was cheap. I paid less than $ 10.00 for a 3 ounce container. In my mind, I kept thinking that there was no way something so inexpensive would really work, but....I'd already tried the expensive stuff, so what did I have to loose?
Porcelana Skin Lightening Cream claims that it will:
The front of the box also exclaimed that there was a FRESH NEW SCENT! Boy....if this container of Porcelana is boasting a fresh new scent, I can't imagine how bad the original scent must have smelled. OH MY!
The only way I can describe the way Porcelana Skin Lighting Creamsmells is to compare it to Vagisil Feminine Cream. Yes, ladies, it is THAT bad. Most of the time, when you buy a face cream, you can pretty safetly assume that it will have a pleasant smell, and you would be correct about 99.9% of the time. But, the exception is Porcelana Skin Lighting Cream. YUCK!
As if the smell wasn't bad enough, the consistency of this stuff is horrible. Usually, a face cream is smooth and silky and light on your face. Not this stuff. Oh my goodness, this stuff is THICK! It goes on thick and it feels thick on your face the entire time it's on. Your face feels greasy and heavy, and to top it off...YOU SMELL HORRIBLE with it on your face!
Did Porcelana Skin Lightening Cream live up to any it's claims? NO! Not a single one. It didn't fade age spots. It didn't reduce the appearance of freckles. It didn't even out the pigment on my face. It did nothing but stink up my face and feel disgusting.
Ironically, this product claims that it is dermatologist recommended. It also claims to be the "skin discoloration authority". Hmmm..... I was really hopeful that this product would work well since it smelled so bad. Yes, that sounds crazy, but my thought was that it must be some heavy duty stuff to smell so rotten.
To use, apply a small amount on your face in a thin layer. You are only supposed to apply this cream to affected areas of your face, which in my case is all over. You really can't use this cream any time other than nighttime because of it's consistency. There is NO WAY you could put tis on your face and then apply your makeup in the morning. It's just not possible. You are also supposed to limit your exposure to the sun when using Porcelana Skin Lightening Cream, so you cannot use it during the daytime without applying an additional layer of sunblock.
Now, although this stuff smelled horrible and was disgustingly thick, I continued to use it each and every night. The jar warns that if you do not see results after three months of use to discontinue treatment. Well, I faithfully applied it to my skin for a little over a month and gave up. If ANY anti-aging cream takes three months to work, it's not worth the trouble.
If you think that this product would work for you, you can find it at any department store, pharmacy, and even some grocery stores. You can find it for between $ 6.00 - $ 10.00, depending on where you purchase it and if it is on sale. I've also seen this item for sale online at websites like Amazon. While I am referring to this product as Porcelana Skin Lighting Cream, it may also be called "Porcelana Nighttime Treatment" by some. The container has both sets of wording right next to each other.
Bottom Line - I do not recommend this product at all. It stinks. It is thick. It's disgusting. AND it does not work. It didn't fade my age spots. It did not feel good on my skin. It did nothing that it claimed it would do. Yes, it was affordable, but the price doesn't matter much when you are spending your money on an anti-aging cream that doesn't do anything. My advice is to spend just a little extra on a name brand product that you may like better.
