Ever had one of those days where you wanted to play a game but your brain hurt too much? You don't want to get all in depth but just want to be amused for awhile and unwind. What if I told you that there is a game that allows you to just play and not worry about anything more than matching colors together?

Chuzzle Deluxe 1.0

What is a Chuzzle you ask? A Chuzzle is a ball of fur that comes in many colors, some even wear sunglasses. Most are small about the size of a nickle but some are big like a silver dollar, some explode, others have an attitude but all are just flat fun!

There are 4 modes in which you can engage yourself in this game from Pop Cap Games. I will try to give you a good analogy of each. In every Mode you can earn Trophies by getting certain combinations of Chuzzles and the Trophies you earn are kept in your Trophy Room. Also you can quit anytime and your game is saved so next time you can either Continue or start a New Game.

Classic Chuzzle Mode

Two choices here either Casual or Expert. Casual being the easier one and Expert a bit harder. Just match 3 or more color Chuzzles to where they all touch and they blow up and go away. Get 4 or more at a time and you get a Super Chuzzle that will sit there and blink. If you make a color match with one or more Super Chuzzles a big explosion takes place and a large section of Chuzzles are blown up.

The more Super Chuzzles involved the bigger the explosion and the more points you get. Each time you get rid of Chuzzles their eyes go into a bottle and when you fill it to the line you go to a higher level. After a few levels it gets harder and Chuzzles will get locked (cannot move up or down) Once locked you have to get 2 same color Chuzzles next to it to get rid of it but you can't move the the row or column that Chuzzle is locked into.

The higher the level the more Chuzzles that get locked until finally you can't move anything and the game is over. On this and other levels you get 2 saves and can earn more if your score is high enough. A save will allow you to scramble (at random) the board and allow you to continue. On this one I have gotten up to about level 14 and thats it...lol

Speed Chuzzle Mode

Right off the bat you will get locked Chuzzles and it gets fast and furious and if your not careful your turn is over very quick. This mode takes concentration and good hand eye coordination and to be honest I stay away from it. Want a good challenge then this mode will fit the bill.

Zen Chuzzle Mode

This one is the Mindless Mode and it goes on forever or until you want to quit. I have seriously gotten lost for hours at a time playing this one. No locks, no speed needed...just click and enjoy. I earned a lot of my trophies on this one as it just is easy to play. Before I lost a harddrive on my desktop I had over 21 million on my score with this one.

Mind Bender

Okay here is the mode for those that like puzzle solving and it is very similar to playing with a Rubik's Cube but you are using Chuzzles. The playing field is 6 across and 6 down and you have to put the colored Chuzzles in the same configuration as the illustration for each puzzle. There are 5 puzzles on each level with 10 levels to challenge your skills. I have not gotten past level 3 but I was never good at Rubik's Cube type games either.

Bottom Line

You can play this online but you are limited on the levels you can play. I paid $19.95 for this one and have enjoyed it for over a year now. You can earn 25 Trophies for completing certain tasks such as Getting 1,000,000 Chuzzles, blowing up 4 Supers at one time, playing a game with no bad moves (no mistakes) and so on. It is a one player game but you can compete for high scores as it keeps track of them for you.

Chuzzle Secrets

Just want to fool around? Keep left clicking on a small Chuzzle and he will sneeze and blow all his fur off....lol Do the same with a large Chuzzle and he will burp...Just something to have fun with. If you leave your mouse cursor sitting on a Chuzzle he will get mad and move your mouse off of him. Some Chuzzles wear sunglasses but are nothing other than better looking, they aren't worth any extra points.
