Not buying PolanerALLFruit now that maltodextrin has been added.

We will NOT be purchasing Polaner AllFruit any longer now that MALTODEXTRIN has been added which for us causes embarrassing flatulence. Why this has been added to increase fiber is laughable. There are many great natural food sources that have considerable more fiber than that which would be added to a fruit spread. We have begin buying SMUCKER'S Simply FRUIT with has no maltodextrin and is sweetened with fruit syrups obtained from fruit juice concentrates.

Don't reward B&G Foods for their foolish addition of maltodextrin the ingredients of Polaner's All Fruit. On my jar of Blacberry All Fruit, maltodextrin is listed above blackberries on the ingredient list. Ridiculous! Stop buying All Fruit (as I will as of today) and they will have their original formulation back on the market.

Fruit Spread/ Fruit Juice Sweetened, Nothing Artificial/Fiber

Polaner All Fruit (Apricot) with Fiber Spreadable Fruit "Jam" is a wonderful fruit spread to use with your morning Whole Grain toasts and muffins, in your oatmeal, in recipes which utilize fruit preserves, in yogurt, cottage cheese, or just right out of the jar--into your mouth. I discovered it a few days ago when looking for some  all purpose fruit preserves for a recipe. My requirements were very simple. I wanted no High Fructose Corn Syrup. I was looking for a naturally sweetened fruit spread product with a good, chunky fruit texture. If I must, I would consider  cane sugar, but, not corn syrup. I discovered this wonderful Fruit Spread stacked in the jelly and jam section of the supermarket. After reading the labels, I decided on Polaner Apricot with Fiber Spreadable Fruit. Its clear glass 15.5 oz jar reflected the chunky, fruity, texture of this spread. It would be perfect for my Apricot Oatmeal bar recipe. This fruit spread also came in Strawberry, Blackberry, and Blueberry. I bought them all. It is important that I have No High Fructose Corn Syrup in products that I use on a regular basis. I would have used cane sugar, though. Cane sugar, in moderation, has a better health profile than  High Fructose Corn Syrup. Corn Syrup is much cheaper to use, so companies now replace real sugar in just about everything. It's cost effective. That's it. Using no sugar at all  is actually the ideal situation. Alas, when looking for specific jams and jellies, some fruits utilized, are just naturally not very sweet without the addition of some "help" in the form of a sweetening agent. So, one must pick  the sweetening agent of your choice, but, choose wisely, depending on your health concerns. Polaner utilizes the natural sugar of fruit concentrates to sweeten this particular product. In this spread, pear and grape juice concentrates are used. That makes a big difference in your caloric consumption. One tablespoon =6 G of sugar and 30 calories only.  Plus, you're also getting 3 Grams of fiber effortlessly! The sugar is from natural fruits. It is dense in texture. One tablespoon will conveniently spread both pieces of toast. WHY I LOVE IT:  100% All Natural, No Artificial Colors, No Artificial Flavors, Chunky Real Fruit, No High Fructose Corn Syrup, Contains Fiber, Low Calorie, Versatile, Tastes Delicious. NUTRITION: 1 Tbsp.=30 calories and 3 G of Fiber, No Sodium, Sugars=6 G, Total Carb. = 9 G Total Fat=0 INGREDIENTS:  Juice Concentrates from Pear and Grape, Apricots, Maltodextrin (Dietary Fiber) Fruit Pectin, Natural Flavor, Citric Acid MY OPINION:  Tastes like you're eating chunky, fresh apricots with just the right balance of natural sugar.  Convenient to use. Delicious. Fiber Rich. Low in Calories. Sweetened with Natural Fruit Juices. A fine product. It tastes like Mother Nature in a jar!
