Playtex Premium Nurser baby bottle Review Summary

A premium upgrade to an old favorite ushers in the Playtex Premium Nurser. With a nipple “shaped to be more like the breast,” pro-breastfeeding moms have highly recommended the Playtex Premium Nurser since it reduces the chances of nipple confusion. With the use of bag-like liners, parents love they can squeeze out any excess air, making the Premium Nursers “better at preventing gas than the traditional bottles.“ In addition, the Premium Nurser is considered “convenient” to use since you can just drop-in the liner and go. This makes the Playtex Premium “easier to clean” and “always sanitized.” Are there downsides to the Premium Nurser? The biggest complain most reviewers have is the cost of the liners. The design of the liner also make it difficult to tell how much baby has eaten. Even with these few issues, the vast majority of reviewers would not trade their Playtex Premium Nurser for any other baby bottle.

Love these bottles - we use nothing else in our house.  The natural latch nipples seemed to be easiest for our baby to use.  We also love the pre-formed liners - much easier than the bag style liners.  Other bottles just aren't the same.  We started using these when our baby was… read full review »

These are great bottles for travelling when you are formula feeding.  They are best for use with powdered formula on long trips, because the liners are less bulky to pack and you can just pack water and pre-measured powder that won't go bad. — Not exactly cost-effective though, since you… read full review »

My mother used them, and now so do I. —  Playtex Drop Ins System is the best for my baby in my opinion. I never have to sterilize the bottles - only the nipples, which I do by boiling water in a pot. Because of this, I only need about four 8oz bottles, and I have 10 nipples to exchange. It really is like having ten bottles! This saves money because I dont have to buy more bottles (only nipples, which run at about $2.99 for a 2pk) and dont use my dishwasher often at all. — My baby has a very sensitive tummy, and I do believe that he benefits from the reduction… read full review »

These Nursers are GREAT!  I bought several types of bottles (Avent, Dr Brown's, ect) and received some more through free sample offers (Soothies, ect)--I still have a shelf full of these unused bottles--but after trying the Playtex nurser with the drop-in liner system, I did not even try the others. The liners are relatively inexpensive (you can get Walmart or Target brand liners that are EXACTLY the same as the Playtex ones, for a bit cheaper) or if you want to buy the Playtex ones, I found many coupons for them --the box itself contains a $1.00 off coupon. The thing I like most about… read full review »

Playtex Premium Nursers are great bottles. Both of my daughters used them all the time. My children were exclusively breast-fed for the first 6 months and up through the first year, but I pumped my milk so they always got their milk from a bottle instead of the breast. The Playtex Drop-ins are rather expensive and I prefer buying the Playtex Soft Bottle Liners (you get twice as many for the same price as the Drop-ins). I have tried using Target brand Drop-ins which are supposed to be compatible, but I've had problems with them leaking at the top when you are feeding baby. Playtex Premium… read full review »

I really liked these bottles. My son was unable to hold his own bottle upright but could still drink from these bottles while holding it himself because of the drop in bags. All you need to do is make sure you push out the air before giving it to your baby. I still have all his bottles and plan to buy new nipples and use the bottles again for my new baby. I found them easy to clean. We originally started out with the gerber bottles and didn't trust them to get clean in the dishwasher so we had to handwash and sterilize them which doubled the amount you had to do. Playtex bottles go right in… read full review »

When my daughter was born, we had a difficult time with bottle choice and formula. This proved to be the best bottle choice. The liners are an added cost, but they are an assurance that there is at least partly a sterile environment. In addition, there are 3 different nipples to choose from: slow, variable and fast. We used slow until about 7 months and then switched to fast. My daughter adapted very quickly to the change. — — I love the Premium Nursers, especially the ones with designs. Now that they have the expandable liners that go up to 10 ounces, they're so very practical.… read full review »

I love these bottles because they are so easy to use.  I had to stop breastfeeding after about a month and my daughter moved to these bottles no problem.  I originally bought these so that I could pump into the liners and freeze the breastmilk, but they are so easy to use w/formula also.  The large mouth on the bottle keeps my counters mess free from the formula.  I tried to switch my daughter to cheaper Gerber bottles because we had a big move and alot of our stuff is still in storage but I went out and bought all new drop in bottles. They make her alot less gassy and the… read full review »

I adopted both my girls, so breast feeding was not option.  So I was glad to find and use the Playtex Premium Nursers.  The Nursers were made of high quality and were able to be used by both girls, which made the cost minimal for when my second daughter was adopted.  Yes, there is an extra cost for the liners, but I felt by having this system of using drop-in liners made cleaning a breeze.  I also felt by using a fresh liner for each feeding meant that the bottles I used were always sanitized.  I'm still loving this product and would recommend it to anyone.  —… read full review »

I really like the playtex nursers with drop ins.  And the new design they have is even better than the old ones. Not only are they more attractive, but now it is easier to get the air out of them. — The slow flow nipples work the best, I used them the whole bottle feeding experience. The fast ones just came out too fast and by the time my son was older if I used them, he would finish the bottle much too fast. — I am expecting my second child soon, and will definatly be using these bottles again. They are all I plan on using, besides breastfeeding. —… read full review »

It worked well with my first son who is now 22 i couldn't use them with my other kids because of the way their facial features were.i would recommend them for people with new babies because they are actully easy to use. they do not have to be boiled like other bottles do and there are ways to work around having to buy the bags all the time when hard times come around they can always be washed and reused sounds sick but most of the teenager around where i live do not know the value of a dollar.  they are to busy to think of the things they might need for their… read full review »

I do not like these bottles for my son. They were very convenient, but the added cost of liners, the poor nipple flow and the fact that they did not work in our bottle warmer just was too much. I could never tell how much formula my son had already consumed, and it was impossible to mix one bottle at a time in the bottle. I just gave up on them because they were too much time and energy wasted. We ended up sending them to daycare. Yes it's more time consuming to wash bottles all the time, but I think it's worth it. —… read full review »

I am a mom of 4 wonderful children and I have used these bottles for ever one of them. I have a 5 month old that has to have cereal mixed with her fomula, and thses are great for that. My 20 month old is finally on sippy cups and he used theses until recently. I put the liner in and fill with water and I can go anywhere and not have to worry about anything. I used the 6 and 4 oz bottles. Really, these save my life. I am so busy with all my children and being a single mom. So I love these… read full review »

I used only these the whole time my son used bottles and I really liked them. My son was formula fed so he used them alot. They are easier to clean then regular bottles and more sanitary I think. These bottles are durable. The liners are an extra cost but if you don't get the pre-formed ones and buy a store brand they are really cheap. They get less air than a regular bottle and need burped less because of it.… read full review »

I like the bottles I think I think the nipples are not made as strong as they use to be and if you have a baby with suck power the nipples deform you have to take them out of the babies muth for air to bring them back to their normal shape. The bottles are great with convient liners they are expensive. I do overall like them I think the nipples need to be made like they were back inthe… read full review »
