My husband got the Playstation 3 from a conference he attended for work and we were very excited when we got it.  As someone who plays the Playstation 2 all the time, I've been really wanting to play with the Playstation 3.  Unfortunately, there haven't been a ton of "Suzi" games made for it yet. ...

I wanted a system to be able to play online games and keep my mega-computer virus free.  Store was sold out of the XBox and I wanted something *now* so I ponied up (sucker!) for the playstation with all the bells and whistles, so I really screwed myself.

I'll be honest.  I generally HATE Sony. ...

My husband has had his Playstation 3 for a little over a year now and we have nothing bad to say about the system, besides the price ticket.  While it may seem a little steep for a video game console, you have to factor in the storage capabilities, and the fact that you can use your PS3 as a blu-ray player.

The graphics on this system are incredible.  It is actually kind of scary to pop in a game in the PS3 and it feels like real life.  You will want to have the correct HDMI cables to get the better quality, but if you have a newer TV the graphics are awesome.

     The system...

I saved for 2 months and was deciding between the Wii, Xbox 360, or the Playstation 3. I even talked to geeks in a chat room, and read everything they said. Which was rather difficult, as I don't know a lot of "tech speak." I read reviews, did my research, and I decided to get the 40 gig Playstation 3.

It includes the console, a usb cable, wireless controller, and a Blu Ray version of Spiderman 3. I don't have an HDTV, but I love free movies! I also got the 5 free movie rebates, which arrived in less than a month.

Unfortunately, most of the games available are FPS (First person shooters.) I do not...

The Playstation 3 is a fantastic console, it is certainly (from a technological standpoint) superior to both the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii. most consoles are viable for up to 5 years before the tech becomes stale and outdated, the Playstation 3 defeats this by including tech that will be fully utilized by 2010 at the most, increasing the life span of the console beyond the normal threshhold. It contains a Blu-ray player also, which is a very big plus, because you get both a video game console, dvd player AND a Blu-ray player, all wrapped up in a neat little package.

It has fantastic first...

I heard a lot of people complaining about the high price of the Playstation 3 and I tended to agree until this past Christmas season when I was contemplating getting an Xbox 360 for my kids.  I saw an Xbox 360 advertised for $279 and figured that would be a good deal compared to $400 for a PS3.  However, when I looked deeper I found that in order to connect to my wireless home network, I'd have to purchase an external adapter for $100.  Also, the "Arcade" version does not have a built in hard drive.  The PS3 will accept any Bluetooth wireless headset, but the Xbox will only accept proprietary... review »

I know...the Sony Playstation 3 is primarily a gaming console and a really good one at that. When I purchased it, however, it made more sense to use it as a blu ray movie player. It is sleek, black, compact and goes well with the decor in the family room. It has built in wifi for wireless connectivity so that any updates to the firmware or the software that controls blu ray playback can be done automatically and with little effort. The Playstation 3 even upconverts DVD movies to 1080p. The blu ray player is controlled via the standard controller. There is also a remote control that can be purchased...

The 80 G PS3 is an outstanding gaming and media machine. The up side: outstanding 1080p graphics; outstanding audio; great on-line gaming and community activity. Downside: this model is not compatible with PS2 or PS1 games; only has two USB ports. Extras: The ability to download free playable game demos and rent & buy down-loadable blue ray movies is great! 9 stars out of 10! Buy one!!! The wireless remote syncs easily; the system is ultra quiet when running. The amount of on-line contest is endless. This is not just a video game system but an entire Media services system! BUY ONE TODAY! I own... review »

Sony once again impressed with the introduction of the Playstation 3. I currently have a 40 GB system with nothing really bad to say about it except the obvious. No backwards compatibility with PS2 games is disappointing. Beyond that PS3's are an incredible experience with incredible graphics, the new Playstation Network, access to movies, music, and pictures, then fully customizeable options.

Starting with the Playstation Network. This new service from Sony lets users create their own online personality and profile to use when online with the PS3's. Avatars can be added to your account. Up to 100...

Sony Playstation 3 console

Best family-friendly game console

Critics agree that the Nintendo Wii is addictive, intuitive and fun -- even after the novelty of the innovative Wii Remote has worn off. Nintendo chooses not to compete with Xbox 360 or PS3 when it comes to realistic graphics. Rather, the focus is on the Wii Remote -- a unique motion-sensitive controller that gets players off the couch, waving the controller around in the air. Reviews agree that hardcore gamers will be disappointed in the Wii, but that's not the Wii's intended audience. Rather, experts say the Nintendo Wii is great for...

First, I want you to know that I purchased this console for two reasons. The first is as a game machine, and so far it has performed admirably. Grand Theft Auto 4, Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and Rock Band are the four games I currently own for this system and each one is incredibly impressive. Especially Rock Band, if you have more than one person playing this system!

The second reason I purchased it is for its media playback capabilities. Not only does this machine play Blu-Ray discs (the de facto winner of the HD format war) and regular DVD movies,...

well i finally got my hands on  PS3(40gig) i chose to wait to see if Sony would have the same issues that Microsoft had with the "red ring of death"..i didn't think they would make the same mistake. do to my budget i got the 40gig, i don't have the luxury of living with my parents and have no bills to worry about..so the 40gig it is..while the only obvious difference between the 3 is the memory space, the ability to play ps2 games, and a few more usb slots and expandable memory slot,i am very pleased with it..it does alot more than i thought is did..one interesting thing is, i use a 4 channel... review »

my review subject today would be about playstation 3 (40 gigabytes), and why they should be upgrading it so it be able to play playstation 2 games and stuff.  For people who does'nt know what im talking about i'll tell you more about it, the playstation 3 is a newer model of a playstation 2 and they are a video game console but just different generation.  So you don't want to buy the playstation 3 and then throw all of your playstation 2 games away just because you bought the playstation 3 (40 gigabytes) it's like $300-$400.  They expect you to buy the 80 or 160 gigabytes to be able to play...

THE MUST HAVE BEST GAME CONSOLE OF THE YEAR!!!!             Everything that the playstation 3 have to off is just great.

The PlayStation 3 is convex on its left side when vertical (the top side is convex when horizontal), and has a glossy black finish with the PlayStation logo on the left side. Playstation designer Teiyu Goto stated that the SpiderMan font-inspired logo "was one of the first elements SCI president Ken decided on and the logo may have been the motivating force behind the shape of PS3. The PlayStation 3 features a slot-loading 2x speed Blue-Ray Disc drive for...
