The PS3 is great for many things besides games. Why pay $300 for a blu ray player when you can pay $300 for a PS3 that plays blu ray movies, games, access the internet wirelessly, and synch it up to a PSP. It is a great gadget to have even if you don't play games. It comes with a hard drive that can store downloadable games, pictures, and etc. You can also synch it to the computer to play videos from the computer and have it displayed on the TV. The only negative I can think of is the system web browser cannot display websites that play streaming videos that uses the latest flash player (eg. imeem, veoh, but youtube works) so you cannot watch video from those websites directly on the TV. There might be a way but I haven't figured it out yet.
