Playstation 2 - Guitar Hero II Review

My younger sister first introduced me to Guitar Hero and I could not play it at all. But then my husband gave it a try and he liked it alot (and unlike me, he's not a big gamer) and so I decided to get it for him. Well, of course I ended up playing it as well, starting at easy and I got the hang of it rather quickly with a little practice. I am now getting 5 stars on a lot of medium songs and my husband has moved into hard, with some expert. We own Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero 2, and the 80's encore. There is a nice mix of songs, most of you will definitely know some well already, but even the ones you don't know are usually fun to play.

The guitar that comes with the box set for Guitar Hero 2 is a great guitar and I like it because it's a plug in and therefor does not require batteries. We bought a second guitar that we don't like as much, so we also ordered the box set that comes with a guitar for the soon to be released guitar hero 3. That one is wireless but hopefully it will be great.

All in all, guitar hero is fun for a wide range of ages and musical inclinations. I don't play any instruments (just now trying to learn real guitar because of playing this game) but my husband is a drummer and self taught guitarist. I am in my late 20's and he's in his 30's, but my younger siblings are in their late teens, early 20's and they love it, also not musically inclined. The game also offers I think enough challenge to keep you busy with it. Though I have fun just playing on medium and don't really even want to move on to hard, whereas my husband loves the challenge of hard.

Fun game, it will pay for itself in enterainment value in a flash!
