The Gods Have Spoken In This Epic Adventure!

Do you remember that thrill when you played Devil May Cry for the first time? That experience that was familiar in some aspects but so different in a completely bad ass way? The opening moments of God of War exceed that thrill. In fact it brings to mind what comedian Dane Cook would call a BAMF. I'll let you do the math.

The opening moments are filled with creatures both small and large that you can effortlessly kill, the game subtly teaching you the mechanics. The God of War is one of the best games I have ever played on the PS2. The graphics are amazing and it makes you feel like part of the games like you are the God yourself. The story line keeps you interested and wanting more of the story. The moves he does are great and this will make you want more. The levels and tasks are interesting and you will never have a dull moment on this game. All this game will do is make you wish you were Kratos yourself and anticipate when the next one will be released

I got God of War when it went to the Playstation Greatest Hits Collection for a bargain price of around 20 dollars. That was probably the best 20 dollars I ended up spending on my PS2 video games. God of War has it all. I heard a lot of hype about it when it came out and when it was in development but when I played it for the first time I really understood what all the talk was about. The game is epic in its treatment of both story, character development and level layout. I am a huge fan of mythology in general and this game's unique and creative treatment to the subject matter of old mythology...

I do not know how to put into words how amazing this game is. Recently, my husband and I have purchased a playstation 2 (since the price was so reasonable and we are financially a little challenged in this economy). My friends had all told me about the God of War game, and the wonderful story and graphics that come along with this.

As a lover of greek mythology, we just had to purchase this game. And let me tell you, were were NOT DISAPPOINTED! This game and story line is pretty true and accurate to the ancient greek stories and the graphics are just unbelievable!

I love God of War! its very innovative because its the first game of its kind! Its a free roaming RPG where you play as kratos, servant of the gods, as he tries to take down the god of war that made him murder his own family. This game is so cool! I love the wide range of weapons and attacks that i can use and it has a unique way of powering up which is collecting red orbs and using them to level up attacks and weapons. This game isn't just a hacking and slashing fighting game, you need a stratagy to survive. This has got to be one of the best games of all time. Great graphics, great story, and super easy controls.

If you ever played video game while being a kid you will be surprided of how advanced games have become. I had not played in a while but i could not put this down once i got it.

If you like mythology this will also please your taste as it's a main part of he game.

Just get the game and play it and trust me you'll be getting part 2 right away also.

This is one of the greatest games I have played in a very long time. The graphics are amazing and the gameplay is epic. God of War 2 makes other games seem boring and trite. The story lines make the game exceptional.

There is no game like God of War until they made God of War 2. I recommend everyone plays this game at least once.

God of War was a very fun and exciting game straight from the beginning. I had to sit there for hours playing it. I was hooked. Also the cut in scenes were great except for the fact you couldn't skip through them. It was very fun trying to go through it on easy but then I played on harder settings which made it a lot more fun. I would definitely recommend it to others.

Great game. Little to no load time, great visuals, and a pretty good story.

Fighting is a bit of a button mashing endeavor and it is definitely a mature game. Even still the fighting can be a great way to pass the time.

It's mostly a keeper if you like awesome action adventure games. I'm not sure it has a lot of reason to replay it personally.

God of war II is a truly compelling sequel to the god of war series. The story tranformes you into another reality, a reality where gods not only exist, but can be knocked from their pedestal's by a mortal man. The gameplay is truly unique with amazing graphics and complete control over your character enabling you to truly experience the power of a god.

What can I say about this game. It is true to greek mythology, and the graphics and story line are just amazing. This was the first game that I purchased for my ps2 and not one game can even compare to this. I would higly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys greeek mythology and or gaming!

God of War is a great game to play over the weekend surrounded by bloodthirsty friends. Killer moves finish off a host of monsters lined up for slaughter, and the first boss battle with a Hydra is one to be remembered for ages.
