Playskool Busy Ball Popper Review Summary

One popular toy for toddlers is the Playskool Busy Ball Popper. This toy is rated highly by reviewers for its bright colors, fun music, ease of operation, and its ability to get kids physically moving about. “My Toddler Still Gets Excited When She Hears it Start Up”, says one positive reviewer. But there are some cons with the Playskool Busy Ball Popper. One reviewer points out that it is “Fun, but Can Get Annoying”, referring to the noise level and the tendency to lose the balls. Add everything up and you get a device that is still considered very good as a Toddler Toy, offering plenty of fun for young children at a fair price.

The Playskool Busy Ball Popper is the perfect gift for any active toddler!

Turn it On:
We showed our daughter the "magic" red ball popper button once (it's the size of a ping pong ball and perfect for little hands). This wonder button wrenches the whirring, blowing, ball popper into action, and that's...

My son received the busy ball popper when he was about 14 months old.  It plays fun music that is not too annoying and he loves to put the balls in.  The only thing I didn't like is that it sometimes pops the balls out to hard and they fly across the room.  When my son was younger he didn't understand... review »

There's a Busy Ball Popper in my church's nursery, and as soon as I saw it, I knew that we had to have one for Xander for his 1st birthday!  He starts wiggling as soon as we push the button; he knows what's coming next!

He's getting to the place where he'll chase the balls, but when he was younger, he liked to sit and watch it and just eat the balls when they came out.  It's a great choice of a toy because it will grow with your child.  Buy it at nine months and it's visual and audio stimulation, and soon it becomes an active toy for your growing boy or girl!  When your child is approaching...

I was lucky enough to get this ball popper at a yard sale and it was, by far, one of the best yard sale purchases that I made. I was even luckier that it came with all the balls!

This is a great toy to introduce independent play.  My daughter was about 11 months when she started to use it and she STILL gets a kick out of it at 27 months.

I think the key when using this toy is to use it in an enclosed space like a pack and play, play yard, or something of the like.  If it's used just anywhere, the balls go flying.  This would be the only toy (besides books) we would put in the pack and play for...

The Playskool Busy Ball Popper was a hit with my oldest when he was younger. So when I went shopping for my youngest son's first Christmas, it was something I knew I wanted to get him. Of course it was a hit with the youngest too!

The price was a little expensive at $24.99 but it's worth it. The recommended age is 9-24 months. The toy comes in a few pieces but it's really easy to put together. It takes 4 D batteries which tend to run out rather quickly if played a lot but not too quickly.

It's very interactive. Your child puts 5 colored balls on the spiral track. You watch them roll down to the...

I bought the Playskool Busy Ball Popper for my daughter when she was about 8 mths old. At that time, she was just starting to crawl and really interact with her world. It took her a little bit to push the button with enough pressure to turn it on, so to begin with, I had to help her. She loves the little songs and sounds it makes, and, thank goodness, she's now almost two and likes to chase the balls herself. The different colored balls help her to learn her colors and she likes to help count them as she puts them in. We've had this toy about a year and a half, and the toy and her interest are...

We've had this for two weeks, and the expressions my one year old makes when the balls pop up still have us rolling with laughter!  Our four year old can't stop playing with it either... even I have to pop the balls up now and then.

The only downfall to this is that once a baby/toddler figures out things fit into the hole, EVERYTHING goes into the hole- hotwheels cars, cookies, you name it.  The problem is it has no way to take it apart if something gets stuck.  I spent about two hours wrestling a hotwheels car out of it this week.

It's worth it though, and a very fun toy!

My son recieved this as a christmas gift and LOVED it.  He couldn't get enough of picking the balls up and putting them back in the tray.  When we first got the toy it used to shoot the balls half way across the room it seemed.  As time wore on, and batteries were replaced again and again it seemed to lose it's sucking power.  Now the balls get stick right at the beginning of the tube and get all backed up until you shove them far enough down there to get sucked up again.  Which is a pain to have to fix every 3 minutes.

For my daughter's birthday, we got her the Playskool Busy Ball Popper because it really seemed like a lot of fun and provides a good interactive experience.  I paid about $25 for the popper and I couldn't wait to try it out.

The Playskool Busy Ball Popperis made of plastic and is made of a down spiraling ramp in orange and blue that leads into the main mechanism of the toy.  The main mechanism of the toy is a fan that pushes the ball through. When activated, the balls are pushed through a clear tube and up through the middle of the ramps.  There is a hole in the top in which the balls come...

My babies LOVE this toy!  My oldest is 2 1/2 and my youngest is 1, and they ask us to get this toy out for them all the time.  We limit their time with it to 1-2 times a day for only a few minutes at a time because they get so riled up when they play with it that we have to calm them down afterwards, plus we're trying to save the batteries.

They love to watch the balls go down the ramp and fly out the top and then chase after them.  They could probably play for hours if we didn't limit their time with it.  We like it because it's fun for them, it's educational, and it makes them be a little...

My son saw this Busy Ball Popper at a friends house and loved it so we got him one for his first birthday.  He loved it, but after a while I didn't.  Yes, I do like the interactive part, and its easy for the kids to use, they loving hitting the big red start button over and over.  It does entertain a lot of different ages (if you can get them to share).  However, the fan is fairly loud and although the music is "fun" there is only so many repetitions I can stand.  I wish there was a way to turn the music off but still let the toy run.  We also can't seem to find a happy medium for the strength...

The Busy Ball Popper made by Playskool is a wonderful activity toy that is great for keeping my toddler busy.  The mechanics are easy: a battery operated fan creates a wind tunnel, in which rests 5 colored balls. The blower pushes the balls out of the top into a tray and down a spiral chute and into the tunnel for another ride.  We ordered extra balls, which were very affordable, and when added, they give the toy another dimension.  With extra balls, the machine blows the balls further out of the toy and all over the floor.  This, in turn makes my little girl squeal with delight.  Then she...

Playskool makes great toys, but for us, this was not one of them.  The fan is very noisy.  It is also a little too powerful.  The balls end up blowing way past the toy and scattering around the room instead of falling onto the ramp.  It is also very light weight, which could be a plus, but considering it is suggested for younger babies, our child just knocked it over a lot, spilling the balls all over, so someone usually had to keep a hand on it.  Since many balls didn't get down the ramp, our child never really noticed the nice see-through ramp that was built in.  He had more fun watching... review »

We received the Playskool Busy Ball Popper as a gift for our daughter when she was nine-months old and it has been a hit!  At first, I was disappointed because after assembling the Busy Ball Popper we realized that there were no balls in the box, but the customer service from Playskool very quickly (and at no cost to myself) sent us new balls.

My daughter loves the Busy Ball Popper!  She quickly learned how to turn it on herself and loves to put the balls back inside when the song is finished.  It's entertaining for her and for my husband and I, which is good because frequently the balls go...
