My babies LOVE this toy! My oldest is 2 1/2 and my youngest is 1, and they ask us to get this toy out for them all the time. We limit their time with it to 1-2 times a day for only a few minutes at a time because they get so riled up when they play with it that we have to calm them down afterwards, plus we're trying to save the batteries.
They love to watch the balls go down the ramp and fly out the top and then chase after them. They could probably play for hours if we didn't limit their time with it. We like it because it's fun for them, it's educational, and it makes them be a little active.
I listed quite a few cons, but the pros WAY outweigh the cons. It's true that sometimes the balls don't pop all the way out -- you may have to push the ball down hard with your finger and then it (and the other balls behind it in the queue) will all pop out, but that's an occasional temporary setback. We have another game with very similar balls that are much heavier than the balls that come with this toy, so we have to be careful to keep those balls away from this toy, because the fan won't be able to blow the other balls out of the chute. We haven't lost any balls yet, but that's mostly because of the way our playroom is configured, but I can see how others might. My biggest quibble is that I wish there were a volume control (this is my pet peeve on almost ALL childrens' toys that play music), but as long as nobody is sleeping nearby, the noise level from this toy isn't obnoxious, although the fan noise can be a little loud, but in my opinion not too bad.
