I was so happy the first day I saw these at the local nursery. I have limited space on my deck, and I love my plants. These allowed me greatly expand my number of deck plants, without taking up more space. They sit securely on the rail, and you don't even see the planter if you include trailing plants in your design.
My only problem with them is that the rail is slow to dry after a rain or if you get water on it (the planter is designed so as not to drain on to the rail.) If you don't move the planters for a long time, this could probably lead to premature rot. Of course if you have composite rails, or move the planters from time to time, this shouldn't be a problem.
Best thing since sliced bread? No, but it is a clever invention that makes my life a nicer place to be.
