Fusing with a lug wrench can be back breaking, so I use my air compressor to remove wheels now. I found a product that not only helps me do the job but also protects my aluminum wheels

Pittsburgh Impact Sockets

This set comes in a handy carry case and each socket is color coded and also coated in plastic to protect your expensive wheels. They come in all the popular sizes both SAE and Metric. You get 7 sockets in the following sizes 17mm, 19mm, 21mm, 13/16", 7/8", 1" and 1 1/16". Each socket also has a nylon insert to keep from scratching your lug nuts!

They fit on a 1/2" impact wrench and are a nice snug fit so they don't go flying off when you use them. The plastic sleeve goes approx. 1/16" past the socket so the plastic is all that touches your wheel. That saves you from gouging those expensive wheels on your ride. Once you get used to what color fits which of your vehicles it is a simple task to get the right one every time. My truck takes the green one and my wife and sons takes the purple one!

Bottom Line

I got this set at Harbor Freight for about $17 and it was well worth it. Now I don't have to wrestle with a manual lug wrench any more and my back feels better for it. The case is nice and compact and fits in my tool drawer easy, it also keeps them all in one spot. If you have an air compressor and impact wrench then you need this set in your garage.

Not sure where a store is then go to their website and find the nearest store to you, you can also have items shipped to your local store at no charge! www.harborfreightusa.com

well thank you very much! I was worried I would mess up somehow, as sometimes I just write like I was talking to myself (no jokes now...lol) I really did intend too explain so people knew what I was talking about and I am glad I did it.correctly ;-) Ron

I don't know much about sockets but you sure did a nice job making someone like me understand better. Great review as usual!
