In the days following the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie, everyone seems to be obsessed with pirates, and my kids are no exception. Having two boys who are fascinated by maps, treasures, gold, swords and pirates, seeing the Pirate's Dinner Adventurewas a no-brainer during our recent trip to Orlando, FL.
The Pirate's Dinner Adventure didn't let us down either. The set was amazing. They had a huge ship surrounded with real water. They were in costumes, spoke like pirates, acted out a whole storyline, involved audience members, and used sounds and explosions to keep it exciting.
Through all the excitement you are served a meal. Appetizers are served in the lobby shortly after entering the building. They had carved turkey and bread, several types of cold pasta, meatballs and fruit. The bars were open for drinks, the gift shop was open for shopping and the fortune teller was in (yes, I even had a session with her while I was there!)
Once everyone is seated, the meal begins. Everyone gets a small salad, marinated chicken, choice of pork or shrimp, choice of rice or potatoes, steamed vegetables and warm apple cobbler a la mode. You also get free pop during the show. Adults can choose either two cups of wine or beer with their dinner.
The food is filling, but the taste is not exceptional. Based on the food alone, I would not recommend this dinner adventure.
The pirate how was exciting and fun, though. Our whole family enjoyed it and I would recommend seeing this show when in town, especially if you have young boys!
