Pioneer - DV410V It's good but not great

4

I received the Pioneer - DV410V DVD player as a gift and after using it for three months feel like I have a good opinion on it. First off I own a lot of different region dvds and most American DVD players are region locked so I can't play my foreign film collection. The nice thing about this dvd player is that since it is region free it plays anything I throw at it. Well mostly, for some reason it won't play any copy of "300" without skipping. It also sometimes struggles with some DVD-Rs while some of my other players have no troubles. The picture quality is excellent and with an hdmi cable you can even upscale to your HDTV. There are a lot of options to fine tune and tweak the picture as well. You can also turn off the player with a dvd in it and come back to it and resume right from where you left off. This DVD player does have some issues though. As stated "300" and some DVD-Rs don't work. These are the only ones I've had trouble with out of playing many different dvds though. The controller is nicely set up, but the fast forward and rewind don't really have an option to go that fast, so I'll find myself impatiently cycling through previews like the old days of VHS. Finally my biggest annoyance is the noise this player causes while spinning a disc. It can be very loud and a couple of times I've removed the disc to check if it was scratching. I think it's just a loud reader so turn the volume of your tv up. Overall I would recommend this if you have a lot of region free dvds and care about picture quality.

Pioneer DV-410V DVD Player

Being a Brit living in Kansas I have lots of US and European Region DVDs and wanted to be able to play them all through the TV rather than relying on my aging laptop to play the European ones. I found the Pioneer DV-410V as a reasonably priced solution to this, and it had many good reviews online. The DVD player can play all region DVDs and numerous other file formats, and has a USB port to play music or photos. It's small size make it great for those with limited space. HDMI ports make it easy to conect to the rest of the home theatre system. The remote and front display buttons are easy to use, andthe manual is informative. Overall it is a great DVD player and and I would highly recommed it to anyone need to play DVDs from multiple regions.

Greatest DVD Player you could buy

5

The Pioneer DV410V is the best standard (ie not blu-ray) dvd player on the market today. The main reason I love this player is because it has a USB port. So now I don't have to bother with burning my home movies onto a cd or dvd or even worse look for them all over the house, All I have to do is transfer the files to a thumb/flash drive and I can instantly play them. Another great feature is being able to view straight .avi & .divx data files. Which means if I choose to burn my home movies, instead of converting them into dvds files which takes up a lot of room (1 dvd blank = 2hours) I can burn multiple data movies (1 dvd blank = 6+ hours). Other great features include ZOOM (when you can't see small text on screen) and a great display funtion which allows you to see the file name, chapter, time remaining, time watched etc. The only draw back is it doesn't play blu-ray.

Long Lasting

Very nice dvd player--expensive but nice.  I bought this two months after my first dvd/vcr player which died on the second day and yet this player is still working just fine--it has been a couple of years already.  I heard a lot of good things about player so I bought it on amazon although I hesitated because 1) it was expensive and 2) when I got it, it was made in China.  So I wasn't sure if I should keep it but this player is awesome.  It plays most of my discs without skipping and it's also dvd region free so I can play dvd I want without checking the region.  It's also a divx player so that's awesome too because I have some avi files on my computer as well.  It's also very sleek looking and pretty and the player is very smooth without any sound when you insert the disc or take it out.  I hardly have any problems with this player.  I used it to check if my discs are still playable so if something can't be played with this, it's not playable with anything else.  That's how much I trust this player. :)

I love my Pioneer DVD player

Not sure if this is our exact DVD player but it looks like it so here goes. I love our Pioneer DVD player. It always works, except on some dvds that are  hopelessly scratched. I love how it looks and the remote is so easy to operate.     We bought this because we have many non-US region DVDS.. It works great. We can watch any DVD and it works. We love it      The price was really good..I think we bought it online though. IT was a good deal though.   The remote that it comes with is really nice. The buttons are sensitive and easy to read. The battery cover falls off when you drop it but the batteries rarely come out with it. The only problem with the remote is that the long battery cover is slightly tricky to put back on but hey, who doesn't need a few challenges :)      I love everything about this pretty much. It has USB connect which is really awesome... though I've never used it and if you lose the  remote all the controls are right on the box REALLLY GREAT BUY!
