There ain't nothing better than southern cooking!  Just ask Paula Deen . . . great southern cooking usually begins with a three of four course meal and of course, gravy.  I make my own brown gravy however I haven't mastered the art of white gravy.  It's a delicate mix of flour and spices.  I never get the same result twice.  My family had a hankering for biscuit and gravy and rather than disappoint them with my pasty disaster,  I made my own buscuits and bought a couple of packets of Pioneer Brand White Country Gravy Mix, sausage flavor.

It's quick and easy!  The blend of spices is so unique I've added Pioneer Brand White Country Gravy Mix to my flour mixture when I fry chicken, bake pork chops and  recently to coat my fried green tomatoes.  Pioneer Brand White Country Gravy Mix gives crock pot recipes an extra flavor kick.  What ever you cook Pioneer Brand White Country Gravy Mix makes you feel like you are eating a down home southern style country breakfast, dinner or supper!

In my opinion, whether you try the plain or sausage flavored mix Pioneer Brand White Country Gravy Mix is just plain ol' good!

WOW, Now you're talking! Never thought to use it as a swedish meatball gravy! YUM!!

TunefulGal wrote on Oct 17, 2009 at 2:22PM

Hmmm. Wonder whether the white gravy might make convincing Swedish meatballs with Trader Joe's meatballs. A few added herbs/spices might do it. Have you got access to a Trader Joe's yet?

I love it . . . maybe a little too much; especially poured over hot freshly baked biscuits! Thanks for the read!

I don't think my generation ever heard it called sawmill gravy but we have a restaurant called Flight Deck and their entrees advertise sawmill gravy so that is how I got used to it.

Thanks for the read! I'm not the best gravy from scratch cook but I saw this gravy mix and after trying it . . . well let's just say I may put my gravy making bowls away for a while. :)

LoveisJoy wrote on Sep 12, 2009 at 11:12AM

This would be perfect for me because I've never been able to make gravy from scratch. :)
