If you loved the stoner comedy of Cheech and Chong, or perhaps they are a little before your time and you just like stoner comedies, then you will love Pineapple Express as reviewers call it " probably the best stoner movie I've seen since Up In Smoke". Written by and starring Seth Rogan who also starred in Superbad and Knocked Up, this is a buddy comedy also featuring James Franco. Together they get mixed up with some bad cops and drug dealers when one of them accidentally witnesses a murder and leaves a small amount of "Pineapple Express" a type of weed, at the scene. The two stars make the film enjoyable as "They played off each others quirky, stoner-ific humor very well" Some felt Pineapple Express might not be for everyone, especially if they are "usually not real fan of pot movies" However, most echoed this sentiment, "it doesn't matter that it's a film about pot-smoking. It's just a good film."

I walked in the theater expecting to laugh a lot and possibly lose rather than gain brain cells while watching Pineapple Express. I got what I expected! So one of my friends mentioned this movie to me and when I found out Seth was in it I was sure I wouldn't be dissappointed as I loved SuperBad & Knocked up but this movie can not be put in the same category as those. So My friend and I went with our boyfriends and they fell asleep in the first 15 minutes.... review »

Seth Rogen Pulls Another One Out

I don't think I've seen Seth Rogen in a movie that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. He has an incredible gift of a movie star version of the Midas Touch, and what's unique is he doesn't have the typical leading man looks to rely on. He does it all with intelligence and humor. This summer's Pineapple Express is no different, a movie that Rogen starred in, wrote, and executive produced.

My first introduction to this movie was when Rogen and costar James Franco presented an award at the MTV Movie Awards, and they did a whole sendup on their pot-smoking stoner ways of Pineapple Express. They appeared to... review »

I barely watched Pineapple Express, because it was sooooooo incrediably boring that I kept falling asleep during it.

 It wasn't even funny.

This movie is probably the best stoner movie I've seen since Up In Smoke. Lots of action, great comedy this movie is a must watch.

Was "Pineapple Express" supposed to be a comedy? I think they forget to add the funny.  I like both Seth Rogen and James Franco, and loved them together in the show "Freaks and Geeks" which was also produced by Judd Apatow, so what happened here? The plot dragged, the characters didn't interest me, and there were essentially no redeeming qualities to keep me watching,  An hour in, I realized I hadn't laughed AT ALL.  I never turn off a movie before it ends, ever, except for this one. Avoid it at all costs!

Pineapple express was an ok movie , but i thought it would be a little more funny. I'm usually not real fan of pot movies so maybe that why this one really didn't grab my attention so well. Overall i think it was funny at times but the rest was kind of boring in between. I wouldn't necessarily recommend to all of my friend but to the pot lovers i would because i know they'll think its a good movie.

I recently saw Pineapple Express at the movie theatre. I was to say the least entertained by this movie. It was one of those movies that was very random and insane you can't help but laugh. I would say that this movie is generally geared towards young adults 18-25 but could be watched by most people over 18. If you are not a huge advocate of drug useage this movie is not for you. The use and references to marijuana I could not even begin to count. Despite this overall a very funny movie. It lived up to all the hype and previews that were so heavily seen on TV and the internet.

Pineapple Express.  Loved it.  My husband and I are avid movie watchers, we catch all the new releases before they are in theatres.  We loved this.  If you don't have a sense of humor and have never smoked pot, I don't recommend watching it.  If you can relate or not, all it takes is a funny bone to enjoy this movie.  The opening is semi-accurate giving likey information on when the goverment illegalized marijuana, nice scenario to envision our government smoking it themselves.  Enjoyable, definetly don't let your children watch.

Seen alot of comedys that just aren't funny? Me to. Pineapple Express caught me off gaurd. I was expecting it to be medeocor, alot of people who's appinions I trusted seemed to hate this movie. Don't Listen!! They are insane!! This is the best comedy about stoners sense Grandma's Boy, Half Baked, and yes even Super Troopers.  Great charectors, great story, and lots of satisfaction for having spent 20 bucks to see it in theators! Watch it!!!

This Pineapple Express starts out a little slow, but picks up speed in the first 45 minutes. What I thought would would be a stupid stoner movie actually turned into a hiliarious action/parody. Seth Rogan is funny, but James Franco is amazing. He is so convincing as his character that you almost forget who it is. I recommend this movie to anyone over the age of 18 who likes to laugh.

This movie was epic. You can't go 5 minutes in the movie without laughing. I love Seth Rogen, and he really made the movie. It was awesome!
