If you don't already know Pilot G-2's are the #1 Selling Gel Pen in America. Thus, when discussed it has many great characteristics. I have tried every pen from ballpoint to roller-ball and was about to give up on gel pens for good. Most are too glossy and bleed through the paper. They often leak or stop working half way through. Then, I witnessed a friend of mine using one and writing without any flaws or even skipping because of ink flow. I asked if I could use one for the time being and then fell in love with them. At first I wanted all of the colors and all of the different point styles. Then one morning I found myself writing with a blue G-2 and it was extremely smooth, much smoother than that of any of the other colors. So I bought more of them. Oddly enough, Pilot must have a special likeness for the blue G-2 also because I found that they come in packs of two and four, unlike all the other colors which come in variety packs. I can write for hours and just enjoy the smoothness of the G-2, or I can sketch my ideas down on paper. I like the 07 tip because of the boldness and clarity that it puts down on paper. The 05 is also nice, but I find that with less ink flow occurring it feels less smooth as you write. There is also a smaller size, though I have only seen these in black, it's 0.38 point and is very fine. I find with this pen the same capabilities that the 05 holds and not as smooth of a line. I have only seen the 0.38 size at Target. The fatter G-2's like the G-2 Pro and such are much less appealing because they are sold in packs of 1 and are hard to grip and still be comfortable. There is one exception to this product's problems and that is the G-2 Limited. It uses regular G-2 refills and looks very professional. It has a metal barrel and is exclusive and only sold for a limited ...hence the name... time. I like the G-2 Limited because it has a metal clip and is more durable than the G-2 Pro and all the others. Not that I don't like the original G-2 (I actually think that the G-2 is better made than the G-2 Pro). There is also the older G-2 Mini. There are a few less colors, and I have never seen refills for them and I also think that they are a little small and harder to write with. Obviously because of the size deficit they run-out quicker too. I carry atleast two blue Pilot G-2's with me wherever I go and always use them.
