Pillars of The Earth —
I read this long before Oprah even thought of putting it on her book club. In fact by then I had read it THREE TIMES. Yes, it is long, but I loved it. I am a huge fan of historical novels. p.s. I just bought the follow-up World Without End and realized I no longer have my copy of this book. I need to pick one up; which will make Ken Follett happy because I got my first copy free - someone left it in the hotel I was working at twenty years ago and all the housekeepers knew I loved to read and gave me the books they found! p.p.s. That was an awesome job. I watched the pool and fitness center - basically I read for about six hours every day, cleaned a little and got fresh towels, then went home!
