Physicians Formula Organic wear 100% Natural Origin Bronzer —

Quick View: Finding the right bronzer is tough for me. I don't like a lot of shimmer and I just want a sheer hint of healthy color. This bronzer had everything I wanted and more. Unfortunately, it looks horrible on my face.

About Physicians Formula Organic wear 100% Natural Origin Bronzer

This bronzer is all natural and free of all the bad stuff that cosmetics usually have in them. It comes in a recycled package and it's so green, it's not even funny. I love the idea of a product that is natural, recycled and recyclable, and takes a stance to keep the world from more unnecessary chemicals and litter. But honestly, if it doesn't perform well, then I just don't want it.

This bronzer comes in six shades for all skin tones. I bought Healthy Glow which seemed to be a medium shade with no orange undertones. The packaging is pressed cardboard and round. On one side is the bronzer, which has little "leaves" of tan and lighter tan colors to blend. Flip the compact over and there is a round mirror and a small fanned brush. It all looks so good!

When I tried the bronzer, the first application showed only shimmer. UGH! I don't like shimmer. It settles into fine lines and looks so unnatural. A second dusting of the bronzer made my face look dirty and streaky. I did not look sunkissed or natural at all. The color wasn't orange but it wasn't like a natural tan either. I looked like I needed to wash my face! The color was also uneven in places. I gave this stuff several tries - under makeup, as a final dusting powder, even on my shoulders and chest - and it just didn't look good. The shimmer is more of a pearly consistency which looks way odd in sunlight and, I think, makes me look older.

The company can be green, natural, and everything else but if their product makes me look older, I will NOT use it. I kept it but I plan to pass it on to someone else. maybe they will have better luck with it. I paid $13.95 for it and it was a big waste of money.

My Viewpoint

If you like to look like you've been playing in dirt or that you live on the streets and haven't had a shower in a while, maybe you'll like Physicians Formula Organic wear 100% Natural Origin Bronzer. For me, it was streaky, shimmery, unnatural looking, and made my face look dirty AND older. I give this 1 star.  I do have to give it a TINY benefit of the doubt that maybe another shade would have worked better for me and I like the brush and packaging but I sure won't be trying any other shades! I don't recommend this bronzer. Try Cargo's line. If you want to splurge, try Terracotta's line. I just bought two more cheapie bronzers and will report back. I WILL find the affordable bronzer before the summer is over!

I will for sure - I'll review it but RIGHT after I read your review I opened my package. I just put some on quickly so I can't really tell but I didn't think it did anything weird:)

Oh, that is SO funny. My son refused to take me to Wal-Mart last night for fear his friends would see us and think we were dating or something and he would have to explain I was his Mom. He said they would never let him hear the end of it. Haha.

Oh Patty if all of us who have 20 something children could look like you do! I don't think my son would let me go "out" with him if I did though. He got upset because one of his friends said I looked "hot" when we were going out for a grown up night.

Let me know if this works for you. It may! Our skin tones are different and there are different shades. It has shimmer though and tends to settle right into any lines. I hate that!

Haha. I love to use song lyrics in my titles. Many times people don't even know it because the songs are so old or obscure.

It does. hey wait, you mean I look so old that nothing can make me look older? LOL LOL. I know what you meant and this really does make my skin look aged.

It may work better in other shades on other people but it sure didn't look good one me!

Oh Patty, I just bought this and another (though not organic) PF product. I saw Terracotta in the store but was lured in by the packaging. I don't even think I opened it so if this is what I bought it's going back. THANKS! Jo

Nice title...now the song is stuck in my head at 1 am!!! :)

JovialCougar wrote on Jul 8, 2008 at 11:52AM

I think this was popular in the Bronze Age, when cavemen dragged their women back to the cave by their hair. Kind of outdated nowadays.

LisaCarey wrote on Jul 5, 2008 at 10:20PM

Patty, it must be bad, I can't think of anything that could make you look older!

MikeMaroon wrote on Jul 5, 2008 at 1:53AM

If I wanna look like I've been playing in the dirt, I at least want to have had the FUN of playing in the dirt!

BubleFan1 wrote on Jul 4, 2008 at 4:52PM

Wow, this sounds terrible!!!
