Physicians formula mineral foundation with new sponge applicator

5

I'm a big fan of natural looking products and a firm believer that too much of a good thing is indeed too much. I am very fair skinned and have a hard time trying to find the right product color for my skin tone. I recently ran out of my old stand by Loreal foundation and wanted to try something new and maybe a little more natural looking. I love the Physicians Formula products, they are a little pricey but are a quality made product and worth the extra money. I bought the Mineral Wear Talc Free Mineral Foundation. It is made for sensitive skin. I was a little leary at first to try a new foundation, but it has by far exceeded my expectations. The new sponge applicator is a bit tricky to get the hang of, but once you figure it out how much pressure to put on the tube to dispense the right amount of product... it goes on very smoothly and blends better then expected. A very natural looking product and well worth the price.

I have never used mineral makeup. I have always had a preconceived notion that this type of makeup just wouldn't work for me. I have oily skin, large pores, and light complexion. I purchased this yesterday. At first I couldn't get the makeup out of the tube using the applicator. I would squeeze it out and try to apply it to my face. It only left small little dots. The make up was thick, but DRY. No matter how I tried to blend it, nothing worked. The first time I applied the foundation it felt like it immediately sucked all the moisture off my face. Not only that, but it looked horrible. It caked into my skin no matter how light the application. Every single line and pore came out. It doesn't go on my skin smoothly at all. It also itches. I had heard so many things about this line of makeup. The applicator just didn't work for me at all. I had to remove the sponge, and use my fingers to try to get it applied. The end result of the foundation is to make my skin look older. The skin seems to pucker. I am just not able to master the application. There is just no smoothness. When i look closely at my face you can see small areas where it wont blend in evenly, it "cakes" and flakes as well. Especially, around the mouth and the nose. I was shocked, because of the price tag, that it didn't work for me. Unfortunately, I also bought another physicians formula product to try besides this one. I am having just as much trouble with it and will NOT be buying any of their products in the future.

Great liquid foundation

5

This Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-free liquid foundations did WONDERS for my skin. In fact, it is the ONLY brand of make up I will use on my skin now. I have battled acne my entire life and once I started using this foundation, I noticed a HUGE difference. I had fewer break-outs and my skin was much less oily than it had been with the foundations I had used in the past. I do not, however, like the applicator sponge that is on it....I prefer to use make-up pads that I can throw away, rather than wiping the same sponge over my skin every day. It says that it is anti-microbial, but I feel like it would still collect oil and dirt, which would wipe right back over my skin the next time I use it. This isn't, however, a big enough issue to keep me from continuing to use the foundation. Overall, I really love this Physicians Formula foundation, along with many of their other products, and would highly recommend it to anyone with break out prone skin.

Like the product, hate the applicator

I recently purchased a ton of makeup, because I found a great deal at a local drugstore.  The store was having a sale on many brands of makeup, a lot of it was 75% off that price, and I had some Extra Bucks to use as well, so I purchased enough makeup to get me throuxh six months and a bunch for my girlfriends as well.  I have to say that of all the makeup I purchased, this brand has become my favorite.  I had never used Physician's Formula before, but there are a lot of things I like about it.  Namely, I like that a lot of the packaging is unique - which I know is not the point of good makeup.  I also like the makeup itself.  I purchased foundation, powder, bronzer, etc.  I haven't had an issue with breakouts, and in particular, I find that this foundation blends really well for a completely natural look.  I agree with other reviewers that this is not for someone with dry skin.  It can be a little thick if that's an issue for you.  Works well for me, though, and the coloring is spot on for my skin, so two thumbs up from here.

I didn't like mineral wear liquid foundation

2

I tried this product when I had a coupon to use and got it at a discounted price. I didn't like the sponge applicator at the top. I don't mind using a sponge, but I don't like HAVING to use a sponge with no other option. I also prefer the sponge to be separate so that I can throw it away and use a new one as often as I wish. I don't like the idea of using the same sponge throughout the use of the entire bottle of foundation. Also, it didn't go over my face smoothly. It was somewhat blotchy. The coverage also looked fake. It went on my face very cakey, not natural. This seemed to be partially due to the fact that the product was rather thick. It was definately not worth the price that it cost to purchase. I did like the colors available of the product. The colors did look natural, even though the thickness of the product made it look fake. I also like the name of the product. It does give e a sense of reliability with the product.

I thought I couldn't go wrong with buying mineral makeup, but this proved me wrong. I bought this when I ran out of my usual foundation, Loreal's True Match Naturale mineral makeup, and the store did not have any in stock. I bought this in the same shade, classic ivory, but it was too light (and I am quite pale). It's probably the lightest foundation I've ever bought. It comes in handy when I am doing goth or vampire looks, but does not look natural enough for every day wear. Word of advice: buy a shade darker than usual. Even if the shade matched my skin, I would not wear this out, however. Very quickly, it gets into every wrinkle I didn't even know I had, and I'm 21 with oily/combination skin. I would definitely not recommend this for older folks or those with very dry skin. Also, the applicator is counter-productive. Instead of applying the makeup, it removes it! Creates quite a mess. You need to have a foundation brush handy to apply this. The applicator will NOT work. I'll keep this until it runs out for simple photoshoots where I can Photoshop out the tons of wrinkles it shows, but it's not worth buying again.

Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Foundation is not for me!

1

Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Liquid Foundation  is simply not for me. I know a lot of women that use it and like it, but for me, it was the worst foundation that I  have ever tried. It was so thick . I hated the consistency of it. When I used the sponge applicater, the sponge just soaked the foundation back up ! It went on very streaky. I felt like it was just sitting on top of my skin. In fact, I felt like a had a mask on. Also, it had a terrible orange color to it. I bought the lightest shade.  It was in the ivory realm, so there should not have been any trace of orange. It was so thick, then when I tried to wash it off, I had to soap up twice! one washing did not remove it all. I think it was the most "aging" foundation that I have ever tried. I prefer a very light foundation. I do not need a lot of coverage. Although this foundation is available at mass merchandisers, I still found it to be pricey. I tried it because it had an instant coupon on it. I passed it on to my daughters, who also did not like it for the same reasons as me. I did not even put this in the "cosmetic collection shoebox." It went straight to the trash!

Great coverage

I used this product probably about a year or two ago and actually forgot that it existed since I have not seen it at any of the stores recently. I switched to the organic tinted moisturizer, but now am thinking that I may purchase this again soo if I can find it. I really like the coverage that this gives. IT's great for sensitive skin. I don't recall having new breakouts after using this. When combined with the mineral wear powder, my skin is smooth and has great coverage. I do remember that I didn't like the sponge applicator so I would just use my hand. The sponge always seemed to rip off of the bottle. The container was designed to not spill and that was great since it seems that I have to clean my makeup bag so often. I wish that the product was a bit less expensive, but since it's all natural it's worth buying. I will probably have to search for this product again since I haven't seen it recently and I know some stores stopped carrying physicians formula all together which is ashame.

Mineral Liquid Foundation makes me like liquid foundation again

4

This is the only liquid foundation I like on my face anymore. I've gotten really used to mineral make up products, and I was intrigued to see a liquid foundation that has minerals in it, so I gave it a try. I was pleasantly surprised! It seems to be fairly long lasting foundation (a bonus that minerals seem to give you), and I really like that I can use a little bit of the liquid foundation on my blemishes and dark-eye circles, and them finish off my whole face with a mineral foundation powder. It gives me much better coverage then with just the loose foundation powder alone! I also like the applicator sponge and that it's antimicrobial: I don't actually use the sponge to apply the make up; I use my fingers, so I'm very glad to know that I won't get my make-up sponge "grungy" by doing that. It's pretty worn off at this point, but my color is "beige" and it's a great match...I've got light olive skin. I would recommend this product!

Great coverage, Love it!

This truly is the best makeup I have ever used! The quality is amazing and if you wait a week or two between you can almost always find it on sale at Rite Aid. This makeup does not fade and is great for your skin. Now, I would not even consider using dept. store makeup. Love it!!!!!
