Philosophy When Hope Is Not Enough Replenishing Cream is #1!

5

Philosophy When Hope Is Not Enough Replenishing Cream is my number 1 moisturizer during the drying winter months. I live in Ohio so we deal with some pretty rough winters. Lots of drying heat is used and it dries skin out something terrible! This product is fantastic for overly dry skin. It also works wonderfully on mature skin that tends to need more moisture. It keeps skin hydrated even during the most drying times. It makes skin smoother and younger looking with just one use. And continues to get better with additional uses. I'd say this product would work for any skin type. Dry, combination, oily, acne prone. I would guess this would be perfect for everyone. I know it works wonders on my skin. Effectiveness I don't think this product could be more effective than it is! Ease of Application Applies so easily. Goes on incredibly smooth. Feels like a cloud going on. Scent Soft, clean, light scent. I love the scent as much as I love the product.

Too thick, not good for combo or oily skin.

I am a Philosophy fan and was given this to try out by my grandmother. She lives by this stuff but after using it for a little over a week, Philosophy When Hope Is Not Enough Replenishing Cream is not a good product for me. I have combination skin and am prone to breakouts but I still use a moisturizer twice a day. I would classify this as a night-time moisturizer that I would put on before going to bed. It has a thick texture to it and you can definitely feel that it is on your skin. I prefer moisturizers to be weightless. I also noticed that it did more clogging pores than it did moisturizing. While this product would probably work wonders for those with dry skin, it did not work well for me. I would not recommend this to anyone that had combination skin or oily skin. Effectiveness I am sure that it works fine for those with dry skin but it did not work well with my skin type. Ease of Application I would prefer it not to have been in a tub but I tried to see past it. Scent The scent is refreshing overall.

Rather expensive but a good quality moisturizer.

I always heard good things about the Philosophy brand. I like the look and concept of their products. I never really tried them because they are much more expensive than most of my beauty products. However, I had a little extra money in my budget and decided to treat myself. I tried Philosophy When Hope Is Not Enough Replenishing Cream. It was a treat. I though that it was a quality product that had positive effects on my skin and complexion. Effectiveness This moisturizer felt great on my skin. It definitely make it feel soft, plump, and hydrated. I have combination skin and have an oily chin and dry patches elsewhere. This did a great job of not adding oil or grease to my skin while relieving those dry patches. I can use this in the winter or summer. Some creams are too heavy to use in the summer time but this one isn't. At the same time, it is powerful enough to use in the harsh winter months also. My skin stayed moisturized and comfortable all day. My dry patches didn't reappear after a couple hours like they do with some creams. Ease of Application I would rather this be in a pump bottle to prevent bacteria and oxygen from altering the product. A pump is much more convenient also. Just make sure to wash your hands every time before using. Scent This really doesn't have a scent.

Good facial moisturizer, but too expensive

I received this as a gift and I do really enjoy this product. It moisturizes very well, doesn't leave a film, soaks in, and is unscented. But, I don't think it is so much better than other brands to warrant such a high price. I think this is just an opportunity for a company to make money. Effectiveness Works very well. Soaks in nicely and leaves my skin feeling noticeably softer. I think it is a great base before putting makeup on as it smooths out my skin. It makes it easier not to have the makeup streak or clump. It never feels like it just sits on top of my skin and my mother-in-law swears that you can tell the difference in the quality of skin after using it just once! Ease of Application A tube might be a nice application, but the container is not difficult to use and it does make it easier to not waste any of the product. And since it is on the expensive side, that is a good thing! Scent I love the lack of the scent. I don't want my facial moisturizer competing with any other scents. The almost non-existent scent is pleasant though.

This is a really great moisturizer

Very thick and creamy and gives you all day moisture but is a little pricey. I've used cheaper brands that are just as effective. I found that it was especially great during the winter months as my skin drys out more then. During the summer I didn't have to use as much of it. It goes on thick so you don't need too much. Also for extra dry areas I would pat on extra during the day to help relive the dryness. Effectiveness Thick and creamy and moisturizes really well. I was able to get rid of some dry patches of skin during the winter months but added extra lotion to those areas. Its a great everyday moisturizer, you don't need to use too much of it as it is really thick. Some lotions run or are more liquid, this doesn't run. Ease of Application The only issue I have every had was getting the last little bit out of the container. Since its not a pump or tube, its hard to get the product out. Scent I love the smell of this because it just smells clean and fresh not like perfume or overwhelming.

I love Philosophy,

Philosophy When Hope Is Not Enough Replenishing Cream is a miracle in a jar. I have very dry skin, andit gets even more dry in the winter when it gets really windy outside. My face starts to gets chapped and it actually hurts. My mom recommended this moisturizer to me. It is wonderful. It moisturizes my dry skin all day. And my make up goes on very smooth after using this. Philosophy is a great brand, I have used so many of their products and I love them all. This moisturizer is great for dry skin and sensitive skin.

Good for when you need that extra kick of moisture

I generally use the hope in a jar moisturizer, and it is usually plenty moisturizing for my skin. But during the summer I have a tendency to be bad and not apply spf like I should, leading to an annoying sunburn once or twice a summer. The girl at the counter recommended I try this. She said it would give me more moisture (which my dry, sunburned face clearly needed), as well as soothe. Well, it surely moisturized my face well, and I agree that it didn't leave it greasy. As for the soothing, well it didn't really do all that much, but it didn't irritate it either, so that's a plus. The negative for me was the fact that I didn't need it regularly, so I didn't use it that much. After a few months when I went back into the jar, it had turned a yellowish color. It still seemed to work okay, but mentally I felt it probably wasn't as good due to the change in color. So if you consistently need extra moisture, this product is probably going to be great for you. If you only need it every now and then, I would say stick with the hope in a jar, and get a sample now and then of this product. Buying a whole jar was a waste for me, because I felt the product had probably gone bad long before I was able to use it all.

Results are enough to make me buy this again

I had used this Philosophy product as a night cream for a couple of years and then stopped to try some other creams I had heard about. These creams can be expensive so I would use them until they were done. Not really satisfied with anything about a year and a half later I decided to go back to the Philosophy product and I am now noticing a major difference in the smoothness of my skin. Even with the cold winter weather I am finding this to be enough to use. I've always had really dry skin and could never find a cream that could get rid of my dry skin.  During the day I use something with sunscreen but at night I'm going to stick with this. It is noticeably different from the other various expensive products I have tried. The only downfall I would say is the scent. Wish that is was a little more pleasant. The results after using this are enough to convince myself it is worth the price. I always wait for a good sale on Philosophy's website to purchase this. Scent Not the greatest scent but you get used to it.

**Quick View** **Philosophy When Hope Is Not Enough Replenishing Cream **is wonderful for those with mature, very dry skin. If you can't seem to get enough moisture with your facial cream, try this one. It dies it all with no greasiness and no clogging of the pores. **Full View** I use all Philosophy products for my skin care with a few others thrown in for variety. I like both Philosophy Hope In A Jar Original Formula for All Skin Types (See my Review) and Philosophy Hope In A Jar, Therapeutic Moisturizer For Dry Sensitive Skin (See my Review) and use both. My sister recently bought me **Philosophy When Hope Is Not Enough Replenishing Cream**. She knew I used Philosophy products and a friend of hers was selling a bunch of new, sealed products for some reason. (I wish I were there!) This cream is neither the regular nor the sensitive skin formula one. It is for those with parched, dry skin and it is more of an overnight treatment than a daily cream. I like it and will use it on and off when my skin is really feeling tight. It will make a great winter cream when my skin is much drier. **My Experience ** I wish I had gotten this cream in the winter when my skin was screaming for moisture. Still, it borders on dry in all weather and is never, every oily. I dabbed a bit of the cream on my face then spread it on my face and neck. A little went a long way and felt rich but not greasy. I don't know how Philosophy manages to make their creams so unique. No grease or oil but lots of moisture. My face felt very soothed and definitely more hydrated. The cream didn't absorb much so I went to bed. The next day, my skin was incredibly soft and smooth. My fine lines were plumped and I didn't even need to use any moisturizer after cleansing. It gives my face a drink of water when it is feeling like it is in the dessert. For those with very dry skin, this is a face saver. It should only be used at night and I would definitely heed that advice. Even those with very dry skin won't need to apply twice a day.  I didn't break out at all from the heavy cream and it definitely hydrated my skin to its fullest. **My Viewpoint** This is a winner from Philosophy. Like its other two formulas, it does exactly as promised. It's thick and rich yet not greasy and it does amazing things for dry skin.*** I am going with 5 stars.*** It's one of the best dry skin creams I have tried and I have tried many. I think perhaps only Wei East's White Lotus line rivals it. If you have dry skin, this is a great cream to try!

Disappointed in Philosophy When Hope is Not Enough Cream

2

I have senstive skin that often turns red. I tried Philsophy's cream and it made my skin very red. I tried using it for a month to see if maybe my skin needed to adjust to see improvement. My skin continued to become inflamed when I applied it. Wouldn't recommend it for sensitive skin.
