Philosophy When Hope Is Not Enough Replenishing Cream is wonderful for those with mature, very dry skin. If you can't seem to get enough moisture with your facial cream, try this one. It dies it all with no greasiness and no clogging of the pores.

I use all Philosophy products for my skin care with a few others thrown in for variety. I like both Philosophy Hope In A Jar Original Formula for All Skin Types (See my Review) and Philosophy Hope In A Jar, Therapeutic Moisturizer For Dry Sensitive Skin (See my Review) and use both. My sister recently bought me Philosophy When Hope Is Not Enough Replenishing Cream. She knew I used Philosophy products and a friend of hers was selling a bunch of new, sealed products for some reason. (I wish I were there!)

This cream is neither the regular nor the sensitive skin formula one. It is for those with parched, dry skin and it is more of an overnight treatment than a daily cream. I like it and will use it on and off when my skin is really feeling tight. It will make a great winter cream when my skin is much drier.

My Experience

I wish I had gotten this cream in the winter when my skin was screaming for moisture. Still, it borders on dry in all weather and is never, every oily. I dabbed a bit of the cream on my face then spread it on my face and neck. A little went a long way and felt rich but not greasy. I don't know how Philosophy manages to make their creams so unique. No grease or oil but lots of moisture.

My face felt very soothed and definitely more hydrated. The cream didn't absorb much so I went to bed. The next day, my skin was incredibly soft and smooth. My fine lines were plumped and I didn't even need to use any moisturizer after cleansing. It gives my face a drink of water when it is feeling like it is in the dessert.

For those with very dry skin, this is a face saver. It should only be used at night and I would definitely heed that advice. Even those with very dry skin won't need to apply twice a day.  I didn't break out at all from the heavy cream and it definitely hydrated my skin to its fullest.

My Viewpoint

This is a winner from Philosophy. Like its other two formulas, it does exactly as promised. It's thick and rich yet not greasy and it does amazing things for dry skin. I am going with 5 stars. It's one of the best dry skin creams I have tried and I have tried many. I think perhaps only Wei East's White Lotus line rivals it. If you have dry skin, this is a great cream to try!

I have this and another one for the body. I'm using this for my legs! Truly nothing ever worked for me until Obagi. I was moisturizing 10 times a day and now other than morning and night I do nothing. Great review though. I think Philosophy is less expensive and may not test on animals. jo
