Quick View

I swear by Philosophy skin care and use the entire line. I love Philosophy Hope In A Jar Moisturizer but I tend to have dry skin. I added Philosophy Hope In A Jar Moisturizer Dry/ Sensitive Skin to my nighttime routine and it works wonders on my aging (Who am I kidding? OLD) skin. This is a great moisturizer for dry, fragile skin.

Philosophy, how I love thee!

The Product

Philosophy Hope In A Jar Moisturizer Dry/ Sensitive Skin is the sister to the regular formula that I use daily. This comes in a white plastic tub and is thicker and denser than the "for all skin types" formula. It's rich but not greasy at all. It has a barely there scent and is snow white in color. Philosophy Hope In A Jar Moisturizer Dry/ Sensitive Skin is very concentrated so only use a tiny bit. The two ounce tub will last three or four months using it that way.

My Use

I use a tiny amount of the cream at night and my skin just loves it. It moisturizes it and leaves it soft and smooth. Despite being dense, the product isn't greasy. I have had no issues with clogged pores or breakouts and my skin looks fresh, nourished, and as youthful as it can (I am almost 43). I believe this cream helps stave off wrinkles that are on the way and perhaps plump fine lines to give a smoother appearance.

My Viewpoint

Philosophy Hope In A Jar Moisturizer Dry/ Sensitive Skin is wonderful for people whose skin tends toward dryness or sensitivity. It makes a wonderful night cream to its sister all skin types cream in the mornings. I strongly believe this cream has changed the texture and the overall appearance of my skin - for the better!

I give this cream 5 stars. Philosophy hit upon a real winner of a formula in their Philosophy Hope In A Jar Moisturizer Dry/ Sensitive Skin and their Hope in a Jar for All Skin Types. I highly recommend this cream if your skin tends toward dry even if you just use it at night. Your skin will glow and feel incredibly soft.

In response to kalexias's comment from Sep 10, 2008 at 2:06AM:

There is always that chance of breakouts with the heavier creams. I like the original better overall but I do use the dry/sensitive cream in winter. It's really thick so I don't use a lot and only at night. I love Philosophy skin care but don't like their makeup! Thanks for droping by. :)

I was not happy with this product. It is the only Philosophy skincare product that I have tried that disappointed me. It was too dense and greasy for me and I do have dry and sensitive skin in the colder months. The regular formula is much better for my skin. This formulation actually made me break out!
