I'm unimmpresed - - as a "power" user/tester of the latest skin care creams/products, this one left me cold. The cream is not thick, felt watery and didn't seem to penetrate my skin. The marketing and packaging is wonderful, but I wouldn't pay the price, which is somewhat pricey for this cream,… read full review »

I love and adore Philosophy.  I look for products that actually do what they claim to do, as well as look for products that..wait for it...have a good 'Philosophy' about themselves and what they are selling.  I don't feel the need to get the $200 caviar face cream because A-list celebrity #1 has been seen buying it.  I want something that works for me. I've been using Philosophy products way back in the day before O got her hands on it.  I find I am using it more diligently as I now am older, wiser and have more of a need for it.  — Hope in a Jar moisturizer is… read full review »

So...I'm not rich. This little jar is fifteen dollars, but do you know what the equivalent of the purchase comes to? Think of buying a pair of real nice diamond earrings for fifteen dollars. Okay, I'm exaggerating a bit, but I think this Hope In A Jar stuff is worth it. I've been having horrible experiences with moisturizers, because I have combination skin, which means I am prone to breakouts in only certain areas of my face while they still need to be moisturized, while skin on other parts of my face is ready to crack off. Hope In a Jar does not cause me to break out, which is EXACTLY what… read full review »

Philosophy's Hope in a Jar is a must-have moisturizer!  I'm 32 years old and have been using it for almost 8 years now.  Moisturizers I had tried in the past were just too heavy or too greasy for me and they didn't seem to absorb well.  Hope in a Jar is just the opposite.  It's weightless on my skin, feels good after putting it on and it absorbs quickly.  I also use their other skin care products on my face and I think it is their products that help to get me so many compliments on my… read full review »

I absolutely love my Hope in a Jar moisturizer.  A friend of mine introduced me to Philosophy products and since then I cannot go a day without my Hope in a Jar.  It goes on easy and absorbs quickly.  It leaves my face feeling smooth.  It is not quite as thick as most other moisturizers, but does the job just the same if not better.  It has a clean scent.  I do have allergies and every once in a while I notice that it does irritate them, but I still can't go without… read full review »

I bought this hoping that it would be the miracle product for me that it has been for many. I enjoy the lightweight texture, in the dry months I use the thicker formula for dry skin. Although this has not brought about any noticable changes for me, my husband loves it. My husband suffers from ingrown hairs and sensitive skin, he easily gets razor burn. This product is a staple for him now and helps to keep his skin issues at a minimum.… read full review »

This is a fantastic product.  I use it daily and it last a long time.  Better than similar products that can be purchased in a Department store.  I never run out.  There is no place in my area to buy this over the counter so I always order it online.  Worth every… read full review »

I really love this moisturizer - it is very light, not greasy or oily feeling like many others and a little goes a very long way. I feel like it firms up my skin when I put it on. It has no smell to it which is also a good thing and a jar really does last a long… read full review »

This product evens out your complexion over time while hydrating it immediately.  I haven't used a moisturizer that I like better than this one for when my skin lacks luster and is dry.  For instance, sometimes after a tough exam, I'll have gone to bed late the night before and I can look kind of sallow and dry.  To remedy that, I'll have a nice glass of water and massage a little bit of hope in a jar into my skin, this helps stimulate blood flow that helps with the sallow/pale appearance of my face.  The moisturizer appears to plump the skin and gives me a more well… read full review »

If you are looking for any skin cream to give you that "10 years younger" appearance, you are going to be disappointed in all of them. The truth is (and science will back me up on this claim) that no skin cream has the ability to take "years off your face". If you've not been taking care of your skin all along, you can't hit 50 and just expect it to respond to whatever you do. — Theis is a fairly good moisture cream, and will hydrate the skin, but if you are having any problems with adult acne break-out's, this will make them worse. — The real key element to great skin is… read full review »

I am a total Philosophy fanatic. I initially tried the Hope in a Jar and loved it. Moved on to the "Make-up Optional" kit and loved what it did for me. Eventually tried many of the Philosophy products, one by one and then attempted to try something else less expensive. I immediately went back to Philosophy products and use them all religiously - can't turn back now. I give these products as gifts and have found that every person that has used them has gotten hooked. — — I'm not one to really make a strong statement on certain products, as everyone is different. However,… read full review »

This product works well for my combination skin.  It adequately hydrates and does not feel greasy or heavy.  I particularly like the "whipped" texture which allows for even and smooth application, and makes it easy to mix in the optional vitamin C powder (also from Philosophy).  It does smell a little strange, somewhat like plastic, which takes a little getting used to; but the upside of this is you are assured no artificial fragrances were added, which can potentially irritate skin.  I use it nightly and find that I wake up with… read full review »

Incredible product! It has made my skincare regiment much easier. Do have to warn the new buyer that it has an interesting scent. No one ever talks about the scent. It's kind of an earthy smell, but it disipates as soon as the product is soaked in. — — I buy my Philosophy all over the net. On the Philosophy website, QVC (they tend to have huge bottles for a very good price) and on ebay. Basically, I search for the best price. — — I highly recommend it for those who are sitting on the fence, as I once… read full review »

This is an amazing moisturizer.  I love it.  It is very moisturizing without being greasy.  I tend to have oily skin at times and have had no problems with it.  It absorbs quickly into my skin.  I am in my mid 30's and have been using philosophy for a few years.  I have to admit, I do not look like I am in my mid 30's.  When my boyfriend and I started dating, he thought I was in my mid to late 20's.  I let him think that for a while.  Would recommend it to… read full review »
