philips portable dvd player

5

My kids got this philips portable dvd player for christmas this year because their other ones were really old and they were also broken! These dvd players are awesome! we use them everyday for both inside the house and in the car! we especially love the playback feature and the memory is great! we can start watching a movie then change to another then back again (gotta love kids) and it will play right where we left off even after we started wathcing something else! Although the besr feature of all is with 2 boys it's hard to want the same movie on so we can just attach or dettach the handy dandy cord and they can either watch the same movie or they can watch what they want too! This really makes for happy kids on car trips to the grandparents house and even just anywhere we go! we havent owned these players for long but with everyday use we havent found anything that we can complain about!

Awesome Portable DVD Player

We got this Phillips 7" dual screen portable DVD player for our two kids for Christmas this year.  We travel around town a lot, as well as take twice yearly 6 hour road trips to California, so we needed a DVD player that was cost effective and had two screens so our boys would not have to share a screen (this has lead to some fights over the years :)).  Anyway, we installed the DVD player into the car and have had only great luck with it. Here are the pros: -It's simple to install in the car.  Simply plug into the power supply outlet and strap each screen to the front seat headrests.  We were also able to tuck the cords into the seats so you can't even see them, which was an added bonus. -One screen is the 'main' screen which houses the DVD and controls.  We gave 'control' to our oldest, so he likes that! -It works great, we've had no skipping issues whatsoever. -When you turn off the car (ie. stop for gas, running in for errands, etc) and then restart the car, the DVD resumes from where it was.  We LOVE this feature, as on our old player, we'd have to reload the disk and wait for it to boot up then fast forward to the part we were on. Cons: -The ONLY con I have is that I wish the screen was 1-2" bigger, but hey, at least each of my kids has their own screen now!

philips portable dvd player- good value

we recently purchased this on Black Friday so we were able to find it at a GREAT price. We bought this for our 18-month old and she seems to enjoy it. Every time we put her in her car seat she points at it and asks for it to come on.  the players come with straps that allow each screen to be strapped to the back of the head rest for easy removal.  We have only used one of the screens but having the option of having dual screens is a plus. The clarity of the screen is another plus.  I like that the dvd is actually inserted in one of the screens and not into another attachment.  the sleekness and color allows it to match almost all interiors.  the only cons i would have would be that the volume sometimes isn't as loud as I would want it to be.  Also, having a remote would make it more convenient to be able to fast forward and push play instead of trying to reach around and push it , or having to pull over.

Great DVD player on the road

I bought this DVD player to replace my old 8 inch Sony DVD player that stopped charging and I've been very happy with it.  I wanted the dual screens because I have 2 kids and I wanted each to have a screen in front of them so they wouldn't have to turn their necks to watch the videos.  We drive 700 miles each way to visit family a few times a year and the DVD player is a lifesaver.  The video and sound quality is pretty good.  It took about 10 minutes to get both screens set up the first time and figure out how to hook it all up.  We have had no problems with discs skipping or anything like that while we were driving. I do wish that the DVD player came with a remote.  It's difficult to get at the controls when the screens are strapped onto the headrests.  The DVD player can only be used when plugged into a power supply either in the car or from a wall outlet.  If it is plugged into a wall outlet only the main screen can be used, there is no cord to send power to the secondary unit.  Overall, it works well for what we need it for (long car trips with kids).

Philips Dual DVD players- Overall I like the product

4

The Philips Dual DVD players are a good product.  We have recently purchased these for our 20 month old son.  He seems to really enjoy and we like the way that the product looks.  It is attached to both the seats; although we only have one hooked up for viewing.  The only problem that I have noticed with the product is that it is really sensitive to scratched dvd's.  Once a scratched DVD is in, it starts making sound and will quit playing.  If a dvd is not scratched, it plays perfectly. We really like the style and quality of the dvd players and we would highly recommend these to friends. So far, we have only had them around 2 months but we feel as if they are a good item for the product. We have already enjoyed the dvd players and hope that they will last a long while.  My husband read many reviews and decided that these were the best for the money, so I hope he was right!  So far, so good.  We are enjoying them :)
