Makes brushing easy, great results
Over the last few years, I've developed gingivitis and require an extra cleaning each year to keep it under control. Still, I noticed that I was getting a fair amount of "dental staining" (aka dark-colored calculus) building up on my teeth between visits. My husband, who has also struggled with gingivitis, had already converted to a Sonicare and I decided to take the plunge. I chose the e3000 because one of the complaints regarding the rechargeable brushes was that after a time, the internal battery would no longer hold a charge and the whole brush had to be thrown away. The first few times using the Sonicare, it felt really funny. And it was hard to brush for the full two-minute cycle (clearly I hadn't been brushing long enough with a manual toothbrush). But, my teeth felt cleaner after each brushing and the "staining" between dental visits dramatically decreased. I haven't noticed any particular improvement with the gingivitis symptoms, but I still feel the Sonicare was a good investment. It makes brushing easy, as it's pre-timed and I don't have to manually brush anymore. Plus, the visible results are great and I like the way my teeth feel. A set of batteries usually lasts 2-3 weeks, and you could even use some AA rechargeables if you prefer. The only thing I don't like about this brush? The cost of replacement heads. Durability Seems good, but I've had it less than a year.
