Philips Sonicare Electric Toothbrush —

I'm a skeptic about the application of technology to such simple, mundane and everyday tasks like brushing your teeth.  Thus, it was with reluctance that in 2004 I purchased one of the earliest models of Phillips' Sonicare products.  (The fact that it was offered at Costco and sublty promoted by my dentist were the main factors at me giving the "electric toothbrush" gimmick a try.)

Immediately, it earned my approval for ease of use, comfort and the cleaner feeling it provided upon use.  Six months later, my visit to the dentist confirmed my delight as plaque removal was noticably easier and that remains the case in each subsequent visit over the past five years.  I gave my college aged daughter one for Christmas in 2004 and she reports similar satisfaction.  The icing on the cake, however, is the fact that today after thousands of uses it still holds a charge for a week and there is no sign of impending failure.  Additionally, you can still get replacement heads easily at Costco and other stores as well as online.  Sonicare has introduced new models since 2004, but I can't tell that there have been that many improvements.  They suggest you change the brush head every three months, but I have found them to remain firm and usable for six months....thus saving a few bucks.  If mine were lost or stolen, it would be replaced immediately!

Wow thanks for the information on this. Sounds like a Sonicare might be worth looking into.
