A few years ago, my dentist was concerned about me getting gingivitis in my gums. They were a bit sore and receding slightly from the teeth. I have to admit that before I seem to have decay resistant teeth, I have been able to get away with not caring for them properly. Hence, I only bothered to brush them once a day usually.
The Sonicare electric toothbrush made up for my laxity. By the next dental appointment, my gums were doing great. They were back to their normal position and no longer hurt at all. The dentist confirmed that my gum health had improved 100% and I was no longer in danger of having any problems as I got older. Because I have continued to use the Sonicare product, they have remained so ever since.
My one caution is about the battery. In th eolder models, if the user doesn't let it run for the full two minutes before restoring it to the recharger, it will mess up the charing mechanism. Many rechargeable products from the past had that problem and this is among them. Hopefully, newer models have remedied that flaw.
