While admittedly some users were hesitant to use coffee "pods," they're glad they gave it a try. One of the benefits of pods, as well as making one cup of coffee at a time is that you make it as strong or mild as you like, making "quick, easy, and delicious coffee." Some reveiewers like the "fancy coffee" and liken using the Philips Senseo Espresso Machine to having a "fancy coffee house" in your own home. It's easy enough to use, as you simply just fill the reservoir with water, put in the pod, turn it on, and it brews your cup. Reviewers compare the Philips Espresso Machine to the Flavia Fusion Espresso Machine, and while they do like the output of the Flavia better, it can only be bought online.

I receieved my Senseo pod coffee machine through a promotion and got it for the cost of shipping only. I was hesitant to try out a new coffee maker and thought the use of a coffee "pod" was silly. I didn't see myself needing or desiring a single cup brewer. I figure for the cost of only shipping, being the coffee fanatic that I am, I'd give it a try.

I was skeptical at first because I didn't know how practical it would be for my husband and I. However, we quickly grew accustomed to being able to make a quick cup of coffee each morning before work.

I received my Senseo Coffee Pot free a couple years ago during a promotion that Senseo was giving out. (They still have these promotions but often you have to pay fifteen dollars for shipping now.) Anyway, I took my pot home and tried it out and loved it! The coffee is fairly good and it makes the best foam ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the fact that it makes an individual cup of coffee one at a time and that it is very quick. Two years ago, the co. was runing a promotion to get people to switch from their old drip-style coffee makers to this sleek ultra-modern machine.
I decided that I wanted to try it. When it came in the mail, I tried it right away just to see how it works and what the coffee tastes like. It was fantastic!!
It makes either two normal size cups or one large mug. You need two pods to make enough coffee for a mug though. Comes with two different size pod holders - one for one cup of coffee and one for two-pod use. Comes in red, black, white and blue.

The pods are a bit pricey, but much cheaper than a coffee shop. It is easy to use. The modern shape looks nice on the counter top. I have found that I prefer to use the 2-cup setting with a single pod to make the strength a bit weaker. I received mine as a promotional deal, so that may color my opinion some. I got mine through the Senseo program also and for $15, it was a great investment. My husband and I aren't everyday coffee drinkers so this is perfect for us. he wakes up early and he can make his own cup and if I wake up later, I can still have a fresh cup. Yes, it is noisy but I can handle the sound for a few seconds. I have had the leaking problem but just once or twice and it's never a bad leak at all.
The pods ARE expensive. I wouldn't recommend this for the heavy coffee drinker since you can easily go through a pack of pods per week.
