I receieved my Senseo pod coffee machine through a promotion and got it for the cost of shipping only. I was hesitant to try out a new coffee maker and thought the use of a coffee "pod" was silly. I didn't see myself needing or desiring a single cup brewer. I figure for the cost of only shipping, being the coffee fanatic that I am, I'd give it a try.
I am SO glad I did! I use my Senseo almost every day. It is perfect for that quick fresh brewed cup. This works out so well for my husband and I. He gets up much earlier than I do and normally, he'd have a pot of coffee brewed, but by the time I got to it, it had been sitting for a while and just didn't taste the best. With the Senseo, even with our very different schedules, we can have a freshly brewed cup any time we want!
It is as simple as making sure the water reservoir is full, popping in a fresh pod and pushing the start button. Even when the machine is just turned on, it only take a couple of minutes to get ready to brew. The coffee tastes great, and there are a variety of roasts to choose from. It really is convenient and works great. I find that when I want a cup of coffee in the evenings, I am more likely to have one now with the Senseo, whereas before, I would hedge on making even a half pot of coffee for just one cup. I would recommend this especially to busy people who love their fresh coffee.
The only con that I have had is that you really need to make sure that the top is closed all the way, and that the pod is positioned just right, or you can experience some leakage. Even when I have had leakage (only twice, now that I have figured out what I was doing wrong), it is very easy to clean up.
