Extremely underpowered subwoofer, barely heard at all and when you do its not clean, sounds very distorted. Lack of clarity from the rest of the speakers. Big sound on a small budget.

I purchased this home theater system from Best Buy during a great sale. I paid $168.00 for it. From the time I took everything out of the box, until I turned it on, I think only 1/2 hour had passed. Each speaker is color coded and they give ample speaker wire for the rear speakers. The tuner picks up stations well, and even programmed the ones it gets in well by itself. There are a few different sound settings as can be expected, I use the same one for all my viewing. The subwoofer is not overpowering at all and doesn't get ridiculously distorted at high volumes. Philips Home Theatre can't get replacement parts

I purchased a Philips Home Theatre system with DVD player, model HTS355537 in December of 2007. In November of 2008 it stopped working and I took it in for my extended warranty coverage repair. Sears was forced to replace the item since Philips no longer has replacement parts for that model. I have to take a Samsung unit for comparable cost. I have to wait over a month for the Samsung to arrive at the store and I have the Philips speakers mounted into the ceiling (I did not have to return them to Sears).
