The old set still worked but I wanted a flat screen set in the bedroom. Have to admit the screen is a little large but I love the beautiful clear picture. Went with this brand because of previous experience it, all positive. The new control took some getting used to and we had to purchase the hardware to hang the screen on the wall. I highly recommend this set and am considering getting one for the guest bedroom but think I will go with a smaller screen. The picture quality is better than I expected and the sound is clear so much so that I thought the phone was ringing when it was on the television. I understand that it has internet assess and I can see how that could be beneficial but doubt that I ever use that. I just wanted a good clear picture with great color and this set goes beyond the call.

We initially had this TV in the 42" version and loved it. Sadly we were burglarized when the TV was about 1 year old. When we went to replace the TV with the same one we realized that now the 47" was the same price as the 42" was when we bought it, so why not upgrade! The TV has not disappointed. Crisp clear picture, great sound. Our BluRays look amazing! My only complaint is that occasionally the sound does not turn on and we have to turn the TV off and back on. Sound Quality Sometimes the sound does not turn on
