We were wanting a larger television set. Wanted a flat screen LCD. But only had a limited amount of money to spend. Shopped around and finally decided on the Phillips brand. Also decided that the 42" screen would be the ideal size for the family room. This tv is reasonably priced. And has a teriffic picture, whether using HD or not. Have had it for about 6 months now, and have had absolutely NO problems whatsoever. I wouls reccomend this tv to anyone.

This is a great tv at a great price.  Even without HD tv, the picture quality is outstanding.  The speakers are good enough even without surround sound.  Neither my husband or I have to have the top of the line electronics, but this one has served us quite well.  We of course did our research before purchasing a LCD tv.  We've had it for over a year and have had no issues.
