Zantac Maximum Strenth is a fast working tablet that helps not only prevent but relieves heartburn. Symptoms of heartburn can be shoulder pain, shortness of breath, chest pain, sweating, etc. You should always see a doctor if these symptoms continue for long periods of time. When I went out to eat at a spicy Mexican food restaurant I knew it was going to end badly so I took a Zantac with me just in case. Now directions on taking the medicine depend on if you are taking for heart burn or to prevent heart burn. If you already have heartburn you will want to swallow one tablet with a eight ounce glass of water. If you are trying to prevent getting heart you will want to take one tablet with a glass of water thirty to sixty minuets before eating or drinking food that may cause you to have the heartburn. I had already had the heartburn so I took the tablet hoping it would work fast. Much to my surprise the achiness in my chest started to ease just after twenty minuets. After taking this tablet I was able to enjoy all different types of food and didn't have to worry about the after effects.

I get acid reflux, heartburn and gas quite often. At times, it can be very difficult to find a product that works well. Zantac 150 is one of the best over the counter medicines for relieving these symptoms. It works quickly and effectively. I will typically start to feel relief of symptoms within an hour and the relief is long lasting. This medicine works well for my partner as well between her quarterly doses of Prilosec or Prevacid. It is a product I would definitely reccomend keeping in your medicine cabinet for just such occassions. It is easy to swallow thanks to the small pill size and relatively inexpensive as medicines go. Definitely way better than Tums or Pepto Bismol. It is comparable to Tagamet, although I prefer Zantac more.

I have always had heartburn problems. I've tried just about every over the counter medicine out there. Tums were the only thing that helped, but when I was pregnant with my first child it got so bad that I was eating about 20 Tums a day even though the bottle said not to eat more than 10 a day. I asked my obstetrician if there was something she could prescribe and she told me to try Zantac 150. I figured she was just blowing me off, but I decided to try it anyway. I picked it up at the grocery store and started using it that day. I was AMAZED at how well it worked. It was a miracle. Anybody that has heartburn regularly knows how awful it feels. Not only did it relieve my heartburn all day long but I also started eating some of my favorite foods again. I had to give up greasy foods, sauce, chocolate, cut way back on sugar, and juice. Slowly I added them back into my diet to see how I felt. Even after I had my son I continued to use Zantac 150 because I figure if it ain't broke don't fix it. I'm almost 8 months pregnant with my second child now and still taking Zantac 150. It still works great!

When I get any type of heartburn or bloating problems after eating I find that just taking one pill takes it all away. My husband and two sisters who have heartburn problems also take this and find that it helps in about 15 min. after taking pill. It also helps when you take it before eating. We love this product.

I've tried all the other stuff...it either works right away and heartburn comes back later...or takes forever to work. Zantac 150 works right away! I find the price to be quite reasonable, but if you are watching your budget...the generic of this works just the same.

I have tried many other over the counter heartburn relief medicines and by far the Zantac 150 mg tablets WORK! Tums and Rolaids only temporarily relieve my heartburn symptoms, but the Zantac works very quickly and for a long time. I am currently pregnant and my heartburn is worse during this time and I am still able to take Zantac. It is extremely effective and I have not noticed any side effects. It is a bit more expensive than Tums, but it works better so it is worth it! I like the packaging - I can put one of the pill pop sheets into my purse and not have a bulky bottle (like Tums) in there for when I need it. Overall, it is long lasting, easy to take, works quickly and it is worth the extra money. I have also tried Pepcid with another pregnancy and it worked, but not as well as Zantac. Zantac is readily available at almost all stores I visit on a regular basis, so it is convenient to purchase as well.

I bought this product as part of a "deal" and found a remarkable solution to my heartburn issues! I was experiencing a burning sensation, right below my ribcage. Very uncomfortable and resisted calcium-based antacids or anything else I could think of! Finally, I remembered that I had some Zantac stowed in my medicine cabinet and decided to give it a shot. I am so glad that I did! Relief came about 1/2 hour later and I stayed acid-free for the rest of the night. Since that first night, I have used it after a night of too much fatty food and during a bout of stress related heartburn. Zantac has never failed me. I recommend it to my friends for quick relief of simple heartburn issues. It works quickly and lasts for the rest of the day. I haven't yet encountered a time when it hasn't worked. The packaging is also great -- it's a little blister pack so you can separate the tablets and carry one in your purse, stow one in your car, desk at work, whatever. Great idea!

**Hi, Yes, this medicine is GREAT for Heartburn! This is my experience to add to the other reviews. I do not have heartburn all the time, just once in a while when I eat hot and spicy food, and this Zantac 150 Mg. Tablets (which by the way, used to be a Prescription Medicine so this is really strong medicine!) really does work. The only thing is it is better to use this medicine for those who need it on a regular basis. I used to use Zantac 150 when it was a prescription medicine. My doctor prescribed it as a preventative medicine; I took it to soothe my stomach and digestive system as I was taking other medicines such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines such as motrin that like aspirin will irritate your stomach. Zantac protects against this irritation. It is a wonderful med!!!! ** **However, for me, I had ONE reaction, side effect: I started having pain in my hips from taking zantac on a regular basis, and, therefore, had to stop taking Zantac 150 mg. I was sensitive to taking it daily. (I believe this sensitivity was listed on the warning label at the time, as well.)** **I WOULD recommend this product, but did want you to know of this uncommon side effect. This is probably a VERY RARE occurrence. **
