There are so many homeless pets out there and petfinder.com helps match the homeless pet you have been looking for to you.  It's very user friendly.  You simply put in what animal you want to adopt, the breed, the size of the pet, the sex of the pet, the age of the pet, and your location.  Petfinder then gives you a list of all the homeless animals that match your criteria, starting with the pets that are closest to your home.  They also have a great classified section for those looking to rehome their pet, looking to adopt a pet, or who have lost or found a pet.  They also have a forum area for those who wish to talk about their pets with other pet lovers.
