Pet Essentials Adult Dog Food is distributed by Target stores and can be found in abundant supply at any Target location. My wife and I are very much in love with our two dogs, a ninety-five pound Newfoundland/Labrador mix and a purebreed Beagle, so we consider the food they eat a priority on our shopping list.
After much research, my wife found Dr. Jon, a prolific veternarian who keeps tabs on the latest news about contaminated dog foods around the country. It is shocking the number of name brands affected by this unfortunate (and quite probably deliberate) act of canine terrorism. That sounds fanatical, but sabotaging the food of the animals so many of us love and depend on daily is truly a travesty.
For a forty-pound bag of Pet Essentials, expect to pay $12-14 depending on where you live. The ingredients and strict adherence to veterinary guidelines make this generic product a value at such a low price. As a dog lover willing, even on my paltry income, to ferret out the best food for my dogs, I am very impressed with the quality and comparable value of this dog food.
It still seems to be unknown how and why anyone would taint dog food, but I am glad that Target has managed to avoid the contamination. Our dogs, Ozzy and Harriett, think so too!
