Perfect Flame Model SLG2007D Grill Review Summary

If you’re a grillmaster looking for a grill that gets solid reviews from Viewpoints members, the Perfect Flame SLG2007D might be right for you. Our reviewers loved the “huge grilling area” (773 inches) and the fact that the Perfect Flame Grill is “very stylish”. Sunday BBQ with the family starts with about 20 people at our house.   This required a big grill.  This one is definitely up to the task.   Huge cooking surface 773 inches.   This sounds smaller than it is because most other grills consider  the side burner in the cooking surface.    A cool...

We purchased this grill at Lowe's when our 16+ year old Sunbeam Grillmaster finally died.  We should have gone with a better brand!  We purchased late in the 2007 season, and by the end of the season the center burner was rusting out.  Now, starting the 2008 season, and the other 2 burneres are starting...

When the heating elements of our Weber grill went out after 10 years, we decided to look for a new grill to replace ol' Betsy. Originally, we looked at the Weber Summit series which, with six burners, has significant grill area, can take natural gas (goodbye heavy propane tanks) and has the durable Weber lineage. However, the prices were exorbitant  (north of $1,000) so we decided to look at other options.

Coincidentally enough, I was going into a Lowe's two days later and notice they had an array of Perfect Flame models. They looked good, took natural gas and were affordable. I did not see the...

I purchased the SLG2006C grill in 2006. The grill looks great at first. All the bells and whistles that a griller would want. However, the proof becomes clear two years later when the internal parts fall apart. Specifically, the stainless steel burners rust, crack and become useless. The heat plates also rust and fall apart. Although the burners have a ten year warranty, the heat plates are not. Working with Customer Service is extremely painful and time consumming. You must have the original sales receipt to receive replacement burners free of charge. The other replacment parts are very expensive.... review »

I purchased our "Perfect Flame" model SLG2007A from Lowes.  It looked like a bargain at around $200.  It looked nice, cooked well, and was easy to use.

BUT, at the end of the first year, we started to get hot spots with large flame, turned out the center burner rusted through.  The other two burners followed in a few months.

We now have a large, unusable deck ornament.  1 1/2 years for a $200 grill means this grill is a terrible value.  If you want a grill you can use and then throw away, this is the one for you.

If you want a long-term relationship with...

I have the SGL2006C. It is rusted out after only three years. During that time it was protected from the elements. However, the burners rotted out after only 1.5 years of use. Good looking grill but poor quality on the burners. You can not get spare parts anywhere other than from Perfect Flame. Forget about the warranty. Useless!!! This was a gift to me and now I need a new grill. Lowe's should drop this brand immediately! They should be ashamed.

I bought the Perfect Flame SLG2006C grill in 2006. A great grill for 2 years, although the finish on side of the cover started bubbling after 1 year. This year all the burners are rusting out. I doubt it will make it through the rest of the season. Perfect Flame will not honor the warranty. This is Chinese junk. Do not buy.

We just purchased a perfect flame grill on February 2, 2008, the same model from Lowe's.  We were grilling steaks out last weekend and the whole grill went up in flames.  The whole side and back of the grill burnt up.  This grill almost caught our whole house on fire as it was on our patio.  When we took the grill back to Lowe's they refunded our money and said that they had never seen anything like this before, and the whole grill should not have caught on fire.  Since this was a 2008 model they could not confirm the malfunction due to the model being so new.  I would not recommend that... review »

The Perfect Flame Grill is a Perfect WASTE OF MONEY  For the price....you'd be better off getting something else!  After only 1 1/2 seasons of use, our burner tubes corroded terribly, 2 of the 4 ended up with huge sections that rusted out of it.  And we keep ours under roof!  I can't imagine what the condition would have been if we had it on an exposed deck.  I checked on the parts and they are outrageous.  After replacing what pre-maturely rotted, I would spend less on a new grill.  Of course, I'm sure that is what the manufacturer would want.  However my money will NEVER go toward a Perfect...

It looks like it would be perfect for summer BBQs and outdoor parties. I would probably buy this grill because it takes up space. All of my neighbors claim that their grill is the best, but if I were to bring this baby out... THEY WOULD BE JEALOUS AND STUNNED...

Stay away from the grill as it has been recalled. The burners are very shoddy. Please refer to the CPSC.

I received the grill as a Father's Day gift. Evidently my family hates me.

The Perfect Flame Model SLG2007D Grill's burners rusted/burnt out in about a year. I now struggle cooking on it because two of the burners have a huge flames shooting out of the first half of the burners. Besides the burners, the grill appears okay, but the burners are the main performance part of a grill. So what do you do?

Another bad thing about this grill is that it came from Lowe's. Lowe's does not carry replacement burners. I have to order online and they are too expensive. I have had better luck with cheaper grills....

I typically love to grill with charcoal, but sometimes you just don't always have the time for it!  I received this grill as a gift and absolutely love it!  It has a huge grilling area!  It heats up quickly and evenly and everything we've cooked has turned out perfectly.  The grill itself is also very stylish and isn't very bulky compared to others on the market right now.  The side burner is also a favorite feature of mine.  A entire meal can be cooked in a fraction of the time it would take to heat up the stove or oven...or fix up the charcoal to grill.

I've read alot of these reviews.  Believe me when I say, "This grill looks good but won't last (2) seasons."  I initially was excited with our purchase of this Perfect Flame SLG2007D grill from Lowe's.  On the outside, it is stylish.  On the inside, it has lots of cooking area.  And, on display; it appears competitively priced.  Unfortunately, during our second season of use, we discovered that the large flame "hot spots" we notice from underneath the burner guards were the result of cracks and splits on all but one the (5) burner tubes.  If you search the internet for other Perfect Flame...
