a domestic diva, learning as I go, into making my yard look good, a lazy gardener
Oh, do I rue the day that I bought this plant - the Dwarf Goblin Gaillardia. Also known as "Blanket Flower" this little specimen is probably the most vivid flower I've ever planted. The petals are almost daisy-like and are a yellow and orange-red bicolor. The 3-inch blooms arrive in early summer and continue to the first frost. Suitable for zones 3 - 10, these compact plants grow moderately well in areas with full sun. Did I say moderately well? What I should have said is that they grew like goblins on steroids.
