I have lived in the St. Louis area for years and I had never heard of Penny's BBQ. I met my husband 8 years ago and he took me to Penny's a couple of months after dating. Neither of us are "fine dining" people so Penny's was the perfect environment for us. He told me to not eat for a few hours before we go because you are going to want to go there hungary. I thought he was kidding. We showed up at the resturant (it was still on lemay ferry I think is the road, across from the shop n save) the resturant was small but there was not parking. That tells me that a lot of people go there. The resturant was very relaxed and the servers were very friendly. I orders half BBQ chicken and when they say half they literally mean that they cut a whole chicken in half and BBQ it for you. I had so much food that I could only eat about half of it. I had plenty of left overs. The prices of the food was very reasonable too, considering the amount of food that they give you.
The resturant has since moved to a new building not too far, but right off of highway 55 (I think it is the exit right before Germania, but not positive). The new building is much larger and has a lot more parking. But the service is the same. The food is still wonderful and you still get a lot of food to eat. Perfect place for the whole family.
