Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP Review Summary

Well known for safety and quality, the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio Infant Car Seat is considered "Italian style and design at its best," and receives the praises of our safety conscious parents. Highly rated in crash test results many parents stated "I feel confident using this car seat for [my child] because of its superior construction." In addition to high safety ratings, the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio is described as softer and more padded than most infant carriers. One mom exclaims the Primo Viaggio Car Seat has been an excellent choice for her son with acid reflux as "this seat keeps his body straighter than other brands." Some parents however disagree that this is a great feature claiming that the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio is too deep and angled too upright for newborns, which made their infant uncomfortable. Our parent reviewers claim the Primo Viaggio is easy to clean and easy to install. As a whole our reviewing parents are extremely happy with their Peg Perego Primo Viaggio Car Seat. "As a result of my excellent experience using this car seat, I have sought out other Peg Perego products." Make sure to compare the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio to more

I found the Peg Perego SIP Car Seat out of desperation of helping my son ride safely in the car. This seat keeps his body straighter than other brands which help to minimize the symptoms of acid reflux. He will actually fall asleep in this car seat. You do however need to be very cautious on the installation...

I have never been so unimpressed with a car seat as I was with this car seat.  This is our fourth car seat as we now own 2 convertible car seats and 2 infant car seats for our 18 month old and newborn.  Having two car seats allows me to directly compare one car seat with another.  This car seat makes... review »

Peg Perego Primo Viaggio is a great investment. The Car Seat is very lightweight and durable. The material is supportive and comfortable. Our 3 month old daughter loves hers, and takes nice naps in it every chance she gets.

I would definetly recommend this car seat to new moms, and veteran moms.

We bought this with our daughter in 2004 - as part of a whole Peg system. It's an OK carseat, but it has two "features" that new parents may not realize are a big minus:

 - 26" limit: most carseats I've seen since have a limit of between 28" and 30". This doesn't seem like a big deal until you realise that the difference could up to a couple months of use depending on how heavy/tall your baby is.

- must use base, can't use belts. Again, this doesn't seem like a big deal, but if you travel or use someone else's car you have to lug the base around with you, whereas most carseats can be used with...

The Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP was the first carseat I ever purchased for my first baby. I'm still using it for my second child, but usually just Sundays to church, I use a Graco the other days. I bought it with the pliko P3 stroller, a great travel system. it clicks into the stroller easily, and I love it when it's in the stroller, but for a carseat for a bussy mom on the go, it's a little bulky and heavy (unless you are using it with your stroller).  The handle is not really ergonomic, making it kind of hard to carry. the carseat also is more in a sitting up position, (not the best for newborns)....

My husband and I bought the Peg Perego car seat because we thought it was well built and we wanted something safe for our newborn.  The price was a little bit more than we would have liked to spend, but given the safety tests that the Peg Perego had gone through and the ratings it received, we didn't mind paying the extra money since it would give us peace of mind.

However, when the baby was born and we placed him in the seat, he looked so uncomfortable in it that we regreted our decision to buy it right off the bat.  He NEVER was able to fall asleep in it because he was so uncomfortable, and...

I got a Peg Pereggo Primo Viaggo Car Seat with the matching Aria stroller with two car seat bases. At first I was in love with this set! I practiced getting it in and out of my trunk and putting the car seat in my car and putting it in the stroller until I thought I was a professional. We loved the fact that you could have a base in each car and just click the carseat in ear one or the stroller. Then we quickly realized that was the only thing we liked.

Most of the stroller and car seat seem to be adjustable. Except, it has a tendency to jam up and get stuck inside whichever mechanism controls...

the peg perego car seat is excellent! it's worked very well from the day i brought my baby home from the hospital. however, you may want to add additional head and neck support for a newborn as this carseat doesn't have great neck support for a newborn.

it is a very comfortable car seat with good padding. but some parts are a little bit hard when you touch it but i suppose it's for safety reasons.

i'm sure there are plenty of other car seats out there that are just as good or maybe even better but we chose this one because it was made in italy as supposed to the others that are made in china, india,...

I purchased the peg perego primo viaggio for my first son.  It seemed the sturdiest choice of all the infant car seats and I wanted a high quality product.  Over all I am satisfied with the car seat.  It is softer and more padded then most infant carriers and my son always seemed very comfortable and safe in it.  The only negative aspects to this seat are the size and weight.  It is smaller than most rear facing infant seats, which means your baby grows out of it sooner.  Also, the down side to it's sturdyness is the fact that it is quite a bit heavyier then other infant seats.  It may...

We love this car seat - using it for our second child now.  We feel very safe given the ratings it has gotten.  The seat is comfy for baby and fits well in our compact car.  It fits perfectly with our Bob Stroller as well as with the cooresponding Peg Perego stroller.  The base was very easy to install & very easy to adjust.  The interior is great - perfect for keeping baby cool in the summer and warm in the winter.  We have the one that came with the boot/rain guard, which we absolutely love as well.  The sun shade provides the perfect amount of coverage too.  The color is great - dark...

Peg Perego Primo Viaggio Car Seat with Side Impact Protection(SIP) is a great-looking , very safe and sturdy infant car seat. I consider choosing car seat for a tiny baby, like choosing a car for myself  - I'd look for visually attractive, meeting and exceeding safety standards, fuel-efficient vehicle... Well, this car seat has all the best features combined! It is a bit on the heavy side, but that what makes it very well-built and sturdy. I took the whole seat apart( for cleaning purposes) and all the parts are of high quality, cover and the belts are washable and it was pretty easy...

I purchased the Primo Viaggio when I was pregnant with my first child. I liked the look of it, I liked the fabric pattern, and I liked that people said it was "the best". After using it with three babies I have learned a few things. It's TINY!!!!!!!!! It is shallow, narrow and if you have a large baby you are out of luck.

You can't use it without it's base. The Graco carseats have the option of taking them in a car without the base in a pinch. This is a major inconvenience in my book.

The canopy shade is LAME!!!!! I is practically pointless. It is completely inadequate. This is another reason I...

I was given this Peg Perego Primo Viaggio carseat in 2006 when my first daughter was born. It is attractive, safe, and functional. It snaps right into the carseat base with ease and is also compatible with the Peg Perego A3 Pram/stroller. It is lightweight and appears comfortable since my daughter never fussed while in this seat. I feel confident using this carseat for my second daughter because of its superior construction. As a result of my excellent experience using this carseat, I have sought out other Peg Perego products. The only complaint I had is that it is costly, not only from a price...

I had the peg perrego car seat for my son and saughter when they were infants,  i loved the seat system.  I never had any difficulty installing the seat.  It has a level on the base attatchment so i could check it and it helped me know It was put in my car correctly so they would be safe.  The car seat was light and comfortable to carry around, and it fit in all of the carriages at most stores.   It had an easy to clean cover which was great for the daily spills.   It also had a nice canopy to keep the sun out of the little eyes.

This is by far the best car seat we have every had.  It was easy to install the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio in our car, it was extremely sturdy, well designed and comfortable for a baby.  I would recommend this car seat to anyone expecting a baby.  As a matter of fact a friend is borrowing this car seat for their second car and ended up purchasing the the same one, replacing an original different brand because they liked it so much.  It's safe, easy and good looking.  Check it out in many different colors!
