Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP — 

We bought this with our daughter in 2004 - as part of a whole Peg system. It's an OK carseat, but it has two "features" that new parents may not realize are a big minus:

 - 26" limit: most carseats I've seen since have a limit of between 28" and 30". This doesn't seem like a big deal until you realise that the difference could up to a couple months of use depending on how heavy/tall your baby is.

- must use base, can't use belts. Again, this doesn't seem like a big deal, but if you travel or use someone else's car you have to lug the base around with you, whereas most carseats can be used with a belt.

 So, it's ok, but you're paying lots for the name and not really getting a top-notch product.

Just a note: The newer Peg Perego models (2006 and up) can be used without the base (seat belt only) and to my understanding the car seat can be used up to 30" not 26". The newest model (2008) also accommodates babies up to 30 pounds too.

This carseat does have a seat belt hooks on it so you dont have to use the base at all times. The belt hooks are snapped. All you have to do is unsnap them and they buckle in alot faster than other carseats. My husband has a chicco and you have to take the carseat cover off on the sides. Also the height can be adjusted by pulling the lever on the back up so it also heightens the head cushions. The only negative about this carseat is that it isnt lightweight. It is a very nice carseat otherwise.
