Basically... my Peg Perego Prima Papa High Chair was a Craigslist special. I think it's several years old, has been used by several children and you know what? It's still ticking. The lady that sold it to me even contacted the company for a replacement chair pad, and apparently they sent it to her... scott free!
It seems to be comfortable for my son, and it keeps him firmly in place. I like that the straps hold in him place almost like a car seat would - he's so rambunctious and if I'm going to use this in an instance where I'm not going to be by his side every moment, it gives me peace of mind to know that he can't get out of it.
I love the tray - completely removable, completely adjustable (no preordained ridges that decide for you where the tray is going to sit) - very easy to clean. I just set it in my sink and spray it off with my handheld nozzle.
The other day I had to deep clean around the seat, because he was getting food stuck under the pad. It took some doing at first, but the pad came off completely, and I was able to wipe the whole thing down, the chair, and the pad.
I have used this 'on-the-go' once - we packed it up (it folds) and brought it to my Aunt's house for her 4th of July BBQ - it was nice to be able to do that. My old wooden one would not have done so well.
I would not have been able to afford this new, but if I could, it'd be worth the money. If you can find a good one used, good for you! Works for me!
(P.S. If you find a high chair that is "easy to clean," congratulations - you have a child that doesn't make messes. Check his or her vital signs.)
