I have used a Dremel tool in the past to file my dog's nails so I didn't think that she would mind the Pedi Paws product.  She has sat quietly with the Dremmel except for one time when her long fur got caught in the wheel and yanked out the fur. She yelped. I cried. I thought that the safety cap would prevent this from happening with the Pedi Paws, however, it certainly didn't act the way it did in the commercials. The commercial doesn't show how noisy the product is or that it is hard to reach some nails.

I had seen the advertisements for Pedi-paws on TV.  I never order items from infomercials so I dismissed it although each time I saw the commercial I was intrigued.  When I recently saw the item at a store I bought one.  The product needs two "C" alkaline batteries which are not included so back to the store I went.  Once they were installed I proceeded to try it out.  The safety cap kind of did the trick but I am still not convinced that it will prevent  her fur from catching at some point.  [Even though I try to hold the fur back it sometimes gets away from me.]  A burning odor was smelled during the filing which made me turn the product off.

In retrospect:  After using the product numerous times I found that the middle nails filed with ease but the end nails were harder to file.  The dew claws were impossible and I used an old fashioned nail file on them.  I have checked out the video on their website and they either used a very laid back dog or had given it a tranquilizer... My experience just was not the same.

Follow up:
I ended up returning the pedi-paws to the store.  I have not looked back.

The commercial video makes the usage of the pedi-paws seem easy- like a fluid motion. That was not my experience. I hope you will have a better experience.

Your welcome! I haven't tried mine yet. I am sure there will be issues with me getting my kitties to let me do it. My boy...maybe! My girl...not so sure! We'll see. I will let you know. Oh, Meri...where did you find the video misleading?

Thanks for trying to help. I have seen the video but it is misleading.
Have you used one? It doesn't work well. I have returned the item. I won't buy another one.

I just found the video. It's at www.pedipaws.com/video/. Make sure you put the second / on when typing. The video is very easy to understand and they speak slowly and go over everything twice. The only flaw I saw was they didn't show anyone using it on their cat. So I am going to call them on Monday to ask why. I'll let you know what I find out. I hope this was helpful.

Interesting. People either seem to love it or hate it!

I just went to the website www.pedipaws.com/video. Still no video. It says not available. Hmmmm...it really makes me wonder. I am going to their website to see what I can find out. Will let you know.

You're the second person who posted a neg. review on this product. One member said it was very loud and scared the dog. Oh, I think it was mrssnell, she has a doberman named Libby. I didn't like the way it looked like it was working on TV. I don't have any pets so no worry. I do have a wild fox that keeps killing our bunny rabbits. Maybe I should get one and let the noise scare him away! haha!! ~Gigi

The commercial shows a cat sitting very still while they use PediPaws on it. I have visions of slashed skin and trickling blood. ...LOL

Thank you for the Review. I was considering this product for my cats. Great Info to have. Thanks Again

I'm glad Tessi is okay. I have the Pedicure, but I've only used it once. I have trimmed Rustie and Nicholas' nails with it. It works okay. Rustie has dew claws I just use a regular nail clipper for them. =) ~Krista Lynn

It may work just fine for you. If I'd never used the Dremel on her I wouldn't have been as disappointed. My dog has long fur that is easily caught in a turning wheel.

OH NO! I just ordered one of these. DARN IT! At least now I'll have a head's up that it doesn't work. :-(
